The VX-HDMI-TP-100M XR HDMI (HDMI/IR) over CATx Extender Kit by Black Box, comprised of a local transmitter unit and a remote receiver unit, drives uncompressed HD video, audio, and control signals with a maximum video resolution of 1080p up to 328' away from your HDMI or DVI-D source using one CATx cable (CAT5e/6). A built-in IR extender function allows IR remote control of source devices from a remote viewing location. To do this, the extender sends IR commands received near the display back to the source devices. The extender supports 340 MHz/3.4 Gbps of HDMI video bandwidth per channel and 10.2 Gbps on all channels allowing transmission of 1080p 3D video and digital 7.1 surround audio. HDBaseT technology reduces susceptibility to EMI/RFI noise over the full 328' distance. EDID and HDCP communications are supported, meaning you can also extend content from a Blu-ray player or other protected-content source. For high-quality sound, the XR HDMI and IR extender transmits uncompressed LPCM signals as well as compressed audio, such as DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD audio, as part of the HDMI signal.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this introduce any noticeable delay when connected through a wired Gigabit switch in its own VLAN? Other questions/answers say it has no delay in point-to-point mode. I'm interested if there is any delay through a gigabit switch with transmitter/receiver in its own VLAN.

A: Using any device that has HDMI can result in latency. However, most newer TV sets has a setting to compensate for such problems. Please consult the owners manual for the instructions.

Q: 2. is the 5V power adapter included?

A: In the Box KanexPro HDEXT50M HDMI Extender Kit Transmitter Unit Receiver Unit 2 x 5 VDC Power Supply Mounting Brackets

Q: 3. AC/DC Switched Source COMES WITH UNIVERSAL STANDARD ADAPTERS, POSSIBILITY OF EXCHANGES WHY DO I NEED TO CONNECT IN BRAZIL?

A: The Ocean Matrix HDMI Over IP Extender / Converter will work in your country with the correct plug adapters.

Q: 4. This states that it has a fixed IP address. So would this work to a convert an HDMI video single to an addressable IP source that could be input to a Tricaster 410 IP connection directly, and then used as one of the two network sources?

A: No, you would convert HDMI to SDI and run the SDI cable to go to the TC410; Ocean Matrix does make that as well; you can bridge production and security systems this way as well--AL

Q: 5. Can I have the model number of the correct receiver to pair 3 more TV's to this unit ?

A: The Ocean Matrix HDMI Over IP Extender / Converter (BH # OCOMXHDMI2IP) will use this receiver: Ocean Matrix OMX-HDMI-2-IP-R HDMI over IP Extender Receiver (B&H # OCOMXHDMIIPR) 1080p HDMI Signal Extender Transmits up to 393' with Cat 6 Cable HDCP Compliant Takes Advantage of Existing Wiring Supports Multichannel Audio

Q: 6. Can you have multiple transmitters on the same network and flip between sources?

A: There are no controls on the receiver so no way to flip between sources. The transmitters do multicast across the whole network so the best way to do what you want (with these boxes) would be to set up separate physical networks or create virtual LANs to separate the various transmitters. A receiver's port would need to be assigned to a particular VLAN to receive the signal from the transmitter on that VLAN.

Q: 7. I would need this specifically to send the HDMI output of a camera through a switcher to a live projector during a ceremony. The switcher would also have a laptop input. Will this unit support the transfer of the live video signal under these conditions?

A: Yes it will up to about 150 feet

Q: 8. I have two HDMI video cameras. I want to run them through a Roland V1-HD video mixer. I also plan on using to HDMI inputs from two laptop computers. Will this extender work for the two HDMI cameras? and will that affect the computer HDMI signal?

A: I would add that, although I haven't experienced any latency, I have noticed that there is some line skipping occasionally during fast moving content. I've only seen this once or twice but for that reason I wouldn't recommend using it in a professional multi-cam situation.

Q: 9. Does this introduce noticeable delay in the video?

A: No. It is amazingly fast.

Q: 10. can it be connected to my actual cat 5 network, or i have to cable a dedicated?

A: Everyone's correct, you cant. And the ones that you can, bandwidth is much lower (even Gigibit Ethernet) so there is compression at 1080.
