Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Would this stand work for recording audio narration with a AKG Project Studio P220?

A: Yes. This has stadard mic stand threadng and will fit 90% of all studio microphone mounts.

Q: 2. Will this work with the Shure SM7B in the lowest position? Does the height adjust grip get in the way of the XLR connection?

A: Yes, the Atlas Sound DS-7E Desk Stand can be used with the Shure SM7B Vocal Microphone. The mic's XLR connector will not be blocked by the height adjustment grip on the stand.

Q: 3. What size is the treading on this item?

A: The thread on this microphone stand is 5/8"-27.

Q: 4. How well does this stand handle any vibrations? is there sufficient padding on the base?

A: The Atlas Sound DS-7E Telescoping Tabletop Microphone Stand has a standard round cast iron base that may protect the mic from very minor vibrations, but it does not have sufficient padding to isolate the microphone. As an option for a similar stand that offers veru good isolation is the Auray TT-ISO Isolating Desktop Microphone Stand (B&H # AUTTISO).

Q: 5. Is anyone using this with a K&M 19740 Tablet PC Holder? The tablet holder can work with up to 1.18" tube. Hoping the 2 lb. base will hold the tablet holder in place.

A: I would recommend using a different stand with a heavier base since the K&M 19740 Tablet PC Holder weighs 1.74 lb. without the tablet. As another option for a similar but heavier stand, you may want to consider the K&M 23325 Table/Floor Mic Stand (B&H # KM23325) which weighs 5.6 lb. or the Atlas Sound DMS7E Stand - Ebony (B&H # ATDMS7E) which weighs 7.3 lb.

Q: 6. What is the thread size at the bottom of the pole? This will be the end that screws into the base. The 5/8 x 27 will be the top of the pole where the microphone gets mounted.

A: The threads on the base of the Auray TT-6220 microphone stand are 7/8"-27.

Q: 7. is this compatible with the akg p120

A: This is compatible with the mic clip of the AKG P120.

Q: 8. This stand could be used with the Shure SM58?

A: It "Shure" could! (See what I did there?))

Q: 9. I have a box guard that I use with my microphone. would this work on the table top mic atand?

A: I think it shoul depending on the style of guard your using. I use these for the procaster mic with the shock mount and can handle the weight. So it should be fine.

Q: 10. Can this stand support Tascam DR-40, if yes what accessory do I need? Thanks

A: Hi Milagros;I think so, but try to check Tascam AK-DR11G accesories for Taskam DR H40. The sound register system I bough last year was different from your choice, thus be sure before purchase about the adapters included in you Taskam DR H40.

Great stand, functions perfectly. Only issue I came across was that the bottom feet have been leaving small black marks on our white podcast tables.no issues otherwise whatsoever.

I used to sit at my desk and hold my microphone while recording. This is a bad idea as the audio will frequently be plagued with low frequency bumping sounds. Treat yourself right and let this mic stand do the holding. Durable build and simple assembly.
