Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is the cotton canvas waterproof?

A: 100% waterproof. The canvas is bonded with rubber in a sandwich.

Q: 2. will this fit a Leica SL2S with the 24-70/2.8 Leica Elmarit lens?

A: Yes, the Leica SL2-S Mirrorless Camera and the Leica Vario-Elmarit-SL 24-70mm f/2.8 ASPH. Lens will both fit inside the Billingham Hadley Digital Camera Bag (Khaki Canvas / Tan Leather Trim, 3L).

Q: 3. Would a Sony RX1Rii and an 8-inch high water bottle fit in this bag?

A: The camera will fit but not the water bottle.

Q: 4. Is this the new 2030 version?

A: This is the same bag since 2009. It is not the 2020 model.

Q: 5. why Billingham Hadley Pro Shoulder Bag (Gray Canvas & Black Leather) is priced so much cheaper 199 dollars in comparison to all other Billingham Handley pro bags that cost around 250 dollars? Is it made from inferior materials or it is some kind of old model? It looks as if internal cushion part seems to be much thinner than it is in all other bags.

A: I have paid for my Hadley Pro Shoulder Bag $249.00! Where do you get this one for only $199.00/

Q: 6. Will a 5d mark iii fit in this bag with the lens attached?

A: The bottom of the bag measures 4 by 13 inches. I fit my D7200 with a zoom lens 18/300 mm attached plus two more lenses into my Billingham bag.

Q: 7. Regarding the zipper: is it a YKK or a generic brand?

A: The zipper is not YKK but high-quality brass very similar to mil-spec zippers that have lasted 30-40 years for me.

Q: 8. Thank you very much for your respond. Would you be as kind as to specify the dimmensions of the main dividers that come with the bag? Is there an accessorie divider that is the same as the one deliverd with the bag i.e. I would like to make bag divided in four sections instead of three?

A: The dividers that come inside the Hadley Pro Shoulder Bag are 5.9x5.9 inches. There are a few divider options that we carry as accessories for the Hadley Pro in different sizes, and the DF15-15 divider with flap is going to be the best fit. You can see it here: http://bhpho.to/1dzVVGg

Q: 9. Hello. Will this bag fit a canon R6ii and RF 24-105 f/4 L?

A: Unfortunately no. The Billingham Hadley Digital Camera Bag is slightly too short for that camera and lens combination.

Q: 10. Will this bag fit a Sony dsc rx10 iv

A: Fits camera nicely, extras are a squeeze (lens, flash)

Incredibly comfortable and well made. Does not cut into one's shoulder, even when fully loaded with two camera bodies, 4 lenses, and multiple batteries, etc. I don't know why I held off so long before settling for a Billingham!

The Hadley Pro is excellent. If the bag was one inch longer it would be perfect for me. It is just a little tighe for the small Macbook Air. The computer will fit but just a bit tight. This doesn't take away from the quality and suitibility for what I bought if for. It is perfect for my Fuji X-Pro 1, multiple lens and all the other junk I carry. I really like the Sage color and I like the FiberNyte fabric. I compared the FiberNyte to a friends canvas Hadley Pro and I prefer it in this climate. My only worry is that my wife really likes it. I just wish it came with the shoulder pad as a standard item.

I'd seen some glowing reviews of Billingham's camera bags, and since I was in the market for a bag for my Fuji X kit, I thought I'd try one out. It was immediately clear that the bag's reputation was well deserved. The construction is impeccable, the canvas fabric is beautiful, and (most importantly) it's extremely functional. It's not very difficult to get into the bag with one hand, the lid closes securely, and it keeps my gear well protected. In terms of size, it can comfortably fit one rangefinder-style body with attached lens, plus four other lenses not to mention a bunch of accessories in the front pockets. I was initially thinking about the Hadley Small, but I'm very happy with the Pro. It's smaller than you might think, and even if you usually only carry a camera and two lenses (as I do), the option for the extra room is well worth the minor increase in size and weight. The handle on the top is also a critical feature not present on the Small. An important note: in person, particularly indoors, the khaki color is substantially darker than it appears in the B&H product photo. Frankly, this was a big relief for me, and it's a very versatile color. This is the classic Billingham color scheme, and to my eyes it's more elegant than the stealthy black options. Bottom line: this is an awesome bag. It's expensive, but if you want this bag (and you should), you're going to buy it eventually. Don't waste your money on lesser bags with which you'll be dissatisfied just save up and buy the last camera day bag you'll ever own.

In other words, it is just right for me when travelling. I used to use a Billingham Alice, so that I could carry one Leica M body, two lenses, iPad and the necessary cables and charger and still have room for a paperback and passport. But if I want to take a MacBook Air 13 the Hadley Pro does the job just nicely. I can use it as a carry-on bag, and it is still small and light enough to carry around at my destination. No need to comment on quality of construction, waterproofing and sturdiness, with Billingham these are taken for granted.

Very nice bag. Definitely the best I've owned for my M kit. Can fit two M bodies with lenses and a few other lenses. I was worried that the quick release tabs on the front would become loose and reduce the utility of the bag, but that doesn't seem to have happened yet. I'm definitely enjoying it.

The price had scared me off for the longest time and over that time I had purchased numerous bags that mostly failed to satisfy my requirements for room, protection and looks. I had big bags, small bags, thin bags and thick bags but for one reason or another they just didn't do the job. Finally decided to bite the bullet and spend the big bucks for the Hadley. The size is perfect for a complete m4/3 system. I have an Olympus body along with 5 lenses, numerous filters, batteries and other odds and ends. The bag is very comfortable to carry due to its fine fabric and relatively narrow aspect ratio. The only thing I might add would be a pad for the strap.

Have a Nikon Df and the Hadley Pro holds Nikkor 24/2.8D, 50/1.8G, 85/1.8G, 180/2.8 AF, and a Zeiss 100/2MP. I can easily add a 35/2. However, I do NOT carry the Df body in this bag - for me, shooting works best carrying body w/ lens on the opposite shoulder with the bag holding spare lenses. As a larger guy, the slim profile of the Hadley Pro is welcomed - doesn't bump into anything, hugs my side, and doesn't make me any wider than I have to be . It is plenty tall and lenses can stack. Using extra inserts, I created 4 lens compartments across the bag (2.5-3 in width each). The non-padded front pockets hold MH24 charger, SB300 strobe, filters, etc. An 11 MacBook Air can be tucked behind the insert. I also have a black canvas Alice bag - the real canvas is soft to the touch and feels wonderful - the FibreNyte is sightly coarser, but still a fairly nice texture - much better than most nylon canvas. Billingham's choice of fabric is to be complemented. I plan to add an Avea 3 pocket (will hold a DR5 right angle viewer plus an S-K 3x loupe). Although this bag is compact looking, it holds an amazing amount of EQ.

A couple of weeks ago, I reviewed this product and included the following comment: ... Despite its large functional space, it is a little smaller than a school satchel or laptop case. When I ordered the bag, I told my wife I wanted something more discrete than my Lowepro sling .... Mostly in jest, she referred to the bag as my man purse. I don't think it is that small, but I guess it depends on who's using it.... I'll leave the man bag debate for another day. The man bag debate came up in my recent trip to Italy. Since my last time in Florence and Venice, restrictions on photos (with or without flash) have become more strict as have the ability to bring *certain* bags into museums and churches. On at least two occasions (the Uffizi in Florence and St. Mark's Cathedral in Venice), I was permitted to enter with this bag whereas other with backpacks (including Lowepro photo backpacks) were turned away or directed to the bag check. This saved me from leaving $3,000 plus of camera equipment in an unlocked coat room, which wasn't going to happen. My goal was something more discrete, and I achieved my goal with the bag ... at least for that trip.

This is a quality product that is easy to access and is built to last a lifetime. I have had a previous larger Model for over 20 years and this smaller version is not a replacement just a smaller version for an updated Leica outfit that weighs much less and takes up less space. Waterproof and a sound investment to protect valuable equipment.
