Choosing a smaller size over bulk and weight, the SLR Magic MicroPrime Cine 50mm T1.4 Lens covers full-frame sensors and features a Sony E-mount. Suitable for 4K origination, each lens in the MicroPrime Cine series features similar size and weight with consistent lens gear positions for rapid lens changes and easier re-balancing when changing lenses on a gimbal.

The lens incorporates a 13-blade iris that provides a pleasing bokeh with natural-looking, out-of-focus highlights. The odd number of iris blades also reduces the appearance of flare off the blades. The lens has an internal focus design so the front of the lens doesn't rotate when focusing, and it has an 85mm outer diameter for compatibility with a wide number of clip-on matte boxes.

Each lens in the MicroPrime Cine series features similar balance characteristics, minimizing recalibration when switching lenses while your camera is on a gimbal.

The internal focus mechanism minimizes breathing and prevents the front of the lens from rotating while pulling focus.

An 82mm front filter thread enables mounting filters directly to the lens without using a matte box.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is the focal length 100 mm full frame equivalent?

A: Yes, when imaged through a micro four thirds sensor, a 50mm lens will have a field of view equal to a 100mm lens on a full frame sensor.

Q: 2. On a aps-c sensor (Fujifilm xt4) what will be the Fullframe 35 mm equivalent focal length for this lens?

A: Fujifilm xt4 has a built in magnification of 1.5x. Which would make this lens a 27mm equivalent.

Q: 3. Does video autofocus work with this lens? I have an XT3.

A: It does not, this is a fully manual lens. This is a manual focus lens.

Q: 4. Can I use it on the Tilta matte box mb-T12?

A: Yes you can use this lens with that matte box. That matte box offers 15mm rod support, you would just need a product like the IndiPro baseplate to use it. https://bhpho.to/2WzppUi

Q: 5. can I fit an slr anamorphic lense and rangefinder on this lense and not get vignetin?

A: Yes, as long as you use an anamorphic adapter and not a full anamorphic lens. I’m using the SLR Magic 1.33 50mm adapter on the above Cine 35 and it works great for me. I usually use a single focal length for most shots so I don’t need to swap lenses often.

Q: 6. what is the focal length on a bmpcc?

A: The original Pocket Cinema Camera has a 2.88x crop factor which will make this lens the equivalent of a 51.84mm. While the Pocket Cinema Camera 4K has a 1.9x crop factor for a 34.2mm field of view.

Q: 7. Could this cover the s35 sensor of the z cam s6 w/ MFT mount?

A: No, it will not. Although this will mount on the MFT mount, it will only cover an MFT sensor. It would be suited for a Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema 4K.

Q: 8. How's the Chromatic Aberration on these lenses? I plan on using them documentary style with no lighting. So I will be shooting in scenes with a high dynamic range.

A: This is designed to be an affordable option for a cinema lens. You should expect to see some chromatic aberration when using it.

Q: 9. in full pictures is 36mm?

A: The majority of MFT mount cameras will have a 2x crop factor. Yes, this will be the 35mm Equivalent of a 36mm lens.

Q: 10. What is the minimum focusing distance of this lens?

A: SLR Magic does not list a minimum focusing distance for this lens. However they do list a Closest Focusing Distance of 0.66' / 0.2m for other models of 18mm lenses that they have. It should be in the same range with this model as well.
