Don't let the small descriptor mislead you. This clamp is large enough if you are planning to use it on just about any standard sized tube (1-1.5 inch) or railing. Mine is coupled with a medium length jointed arm and a holder for a tablet I have for multiple uses. My tablet with the cover is a tad on the heavy side and this clamp eliminates worries about flimsier alternatives. I use it on a mic stand for playing music, the pedestal guard on my boat for a chart plotter application and clamped to the yoke in an airplane to secure an electronic flight bag application and this clamp works in all 3 situations. The tough part of the description is right on. This clamp is definitely built tough for multiple applications. 5
