LOVE the snap in QR plate. I have a bunch of the other Manfrotto QR slide in types to top sliders, smaller tripods. etc and they're ok. But this is SOLID and FAST. The longer base makes balancing easier and the snap in function is so valuable, I sold all my other Manfrotto and Benro (s4) heads and went 100% to these for my light duty applications. Seems to handle the C100 better. The Benros were just too small and not as nice. About the only negative I'd give it is the pan lock bolt is pretty small. I sure hope it stands up the the bumps it'll get during use. It's almost flush with the base, so when put on larger platforms below (slider deck) the knob *barely* clears the base of the other device. But it does. Overall a stellar value. I bought three after my initial test.

Works great with the Panasonic GH4. Very smooth pan and tilt once you get the hang of it. Exceeded my expectations, I would highly recommend it.

Great fluid head for entry level and semi-pros. Priced better than many others and a very adjustable, strong and reliable piece of kit. Have had no issues with it. My only wish is that it's quick release plates worked with all my other manfrotto kit.

This head works great. My tripod was all set up for still photography with a ball head. I started doing some video and found it very limiting. This head works great with Canon 5d ii and 70-200. So much more stability and nice smooth pan and tilt. I am very happy with the purchase.

Perfect for use on a monopod or slider

I bought this from BH for $ with a $ dollar rebate. It is a really nice video head for the money. It might be the best tripod head I have ever had. Smooth pans and tilts. Would buy again.

The build quality is superb. For an entry level Fluid Head Kit, it exceeds my expectations. Fluid Head work great and boy is it smooth. Easy to use, relatively light, and a solid standing unit. I couldn't be happier with my choice.

I use this tripod mainly for field shooting and this tripod collapses in every way imaginable. It is solid and easy to use. When fully broken down, it is light and small enough to carry with my camera bag, audio bag, and a couple of light stands. All at once. I've been using this for a couple weeks now and can't find anything I don't like a bout it. Probably my favorite thing about it is the leveling option. Makes shooting on uneven ground enjoyable.

We purchased two of the AVH500AH flat base heads, one for use on a existing tripod, the other for use on an existing geared elevating rig mounted to the back of a pew in church. Normally I run the switcher, but I was the lone ranger for our Christmas concert and ended up running one camera for the 90 minute concert myself so I got a good feel for the new head. So nice to be able to balance the head so I didn't have to lock the tilt after every move. I used the head with an old lightweight DV camera, but we plan on using them with Canon XA25's starting next month. My only complaint is that the pan drag is not adjustable and I find it a bit heavy. The sliding plate is great for fine tuning the balance point.
