Q: 1. Will a Tamron 150-600mm G2 be able to fit in this bag

A: Yes.

Q: 2. What comes with the bag?

A: Rain cover!!Plenty of dividers inside the backpack.

Q: 3. Will this hold a Canon 5d miii, Canon 70-200 f2.8/Canon 24-70 f2.8/Canon 135 f2 (all with hoods reversed), Canon 600 ex rt flash and Canon 430 exiii flash, with Canon st E3 rt transmittor?

A: Easily, I've carried a 5d III with a 100-400 II attached, a 24-105 L a 7D II body and a 16-35 L on a number of hikes with a FEISOL tripod on the outside. More gear than I needed but the pack handles it easily. On another note, because the opening is against your back, this pack is great for travel. Makes it virtually impossible for a thief to get to your gear especially on trains buses etc.

Q: 4. Is the pack rigid/stiff or could I squeeze it under most airplane seats?

A: NO

Q: 5. domestic (USA) airline friendly? the sample pics make it look HUGE.. I need to pack a Mavic Pro with 6 total mavic batteries, 1dx2, fuji x-t2, 3 FF lenses for the canon, 5 lenses for the fuji, laptop, iPad, and a load of cables. Thanks!

A: This is my experience with the bag and overhead bins for air travel:CRJ900 - Just fits with not much room to spare and needs to go in sidewaysMD90 - Too long to go in straight on two seat side of plane. Fits sideways perfectly. Fits straight in perfectly on three seat side of plane.737-900 - Fits straight in with no issuesAirbus 319 - Fits straight in with no issues717-200 - Fits perfectly straight in on three seat side of planeThe CRJ900 is the smallest overhead bin I believe this will fit in.

Q: 6. HelloDoes the MindShift Gear BackLight 36L Backpack have a rain protection?Thank you

A: Hello,I can confirm that a rain cover is included when you buy a MindShift backpack.I have no regrets concerning my MindShift backpack. Highly recommended.Best regardsTorstein

Q: 7. Does the bag compress (flatter) if not fully loaded? seems deep on the pictures, but may be fully loaded to show its capacity.

A: The main camera compartment (closest to your back) does not compress. It's about 7 inches thick (externally). The two front compartments further from your back will lay flat if nothing is in them and expand a bit if you stuff them full.

Q: 8. Has any one tried a Nikon Z9? I love the 18L but it is too small for the Z9. Measurements say it will fit but has anyone tried a Z9 or similar camera?

A: The depth of MindShift Gear BackLight 18L Backpack is not enough to fit Nikon Z9 Mirrorless Camera. It's more useful for the Mirrorless as well as DSLR cameras without the grip / extra battery compartment.

Q: 9. How wide is the Laptop compartment? I have heard it will take a 14inch laptop - depending on screen dimensions.

A: The laptop compartment in the MindShift Gear TrailScape 18L Backpack (Charcoal) is 8.9” W x 14.2” H x 1.2” D (22.7 x 36 x 3cm).

Q: 10. Most airlines restrict you to 22x14x9 or 45 linear inches for a carry on. This pack is 22.4x13.8x10.2 which is .4 and 1.2 inches too big . I called United and they said 45 linear inches...period Thinking about going with the 26L to avoid any hassle but would rather get the bigger bag for more room. Any suggestions?

A: If you are planning on or often travel with United Airlines, then I would recommend purchasing the MindShift Gear BackLight 26L Backpack for your planned usage needs.

great bag. I have a MIndshift 18L. I am just finishing a trip to the Galapagos. Carried a load of gear, which was heavy but handled very well. Easily fit into overhead bins on a variety of airplanes. Sturdy and well constructed. Could not ask for more in a photoback pack.

I bought this bag specifically to accommodate a Sony A7iii, a wide-angle, fish-eye, and 200-600mm telephoto lens on a trip that would include hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu (Peru) and a visit to the depths of the Amazon at the Tiputini Biodiversity Station (Ecuador). The primary goal was to have a bag that kept the equipment clean and dry but also usable while also having enough room for a water bottle, raincoat, and some of the odds and ends a camera requires. The secondary goal was for it to be comfortable to carry all those places and more. I'm happy to report that BOTH goals were met. I'd still recommend one or two minor design changes if the folks at MindShift were interested, but even so, I consider this the best camera bag I've ever owned. I'm also happy to say that it has room to carry a little more equipment (were I crazy enough to add it to my load), and that the provided rain cover is generously designed to protect the bag, the camera in it, and a tripod or monopod strapped to it. If you want a bag to keep a similar camera accessible and safe while still providing reasonable comfort, this bag is a good choice.
