The Tiffen 3 x 4" 3 Tobacco Soft-Edge Graduated Filter helps to specifically add a warm, brownish-yellow coloration to skies and other bright areas of an image while allowing a portion of the image to remain neutrally colored. The filter's coloring is densest at the edge and tapers to clear by the middle, with a soft-edged transition between the density and clear areas. The 3 color density provides more tobacco coloration than the 2 density filter.

This filter is made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass and grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch. It measures 3 x 4" / 76.2 x 101.6mm.

Note: A vertical orientation filter's line of transition runs parallel to the short side of the filter.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. is this filter a good size for a 77mm lens or I would be better off with a 100mm size filter ?

A: It depends if youre shooting wide or not. Im thinking you probably are so I wouldnt recommend it. Anything roughly under about 25mm brings the holder into the frame. So basically it was a waste of money for my 17-35 nikkor lens with 77mm thread. Id go for a bigger filter kit if shooting anything wide, 24mm or wider. Hope that helps.

Q: 2. I have a Nikon d300 and a Nikon 35mm 1.8mm 52mm filter would this work with this

A: Yes it will work, but you need to buy the 52mm adapter ring to fit the Cokon filter.

Q: 3. Are the filters large enough to move the line of the horizon up and down in holder and still cover the entire image?

A: The filter is 100mm long. Most lenses are much smaller than that, so you do have a lot of flexibility on how much you can move them up and down.

Q: 4. I ordered P series Cokin GND filter. My lens diameter is 77mm Should I order a 77-82mm step up ring to fix on my filter adapter ring? Pls guide!!?

A: The Cokin adapter rings are threaded on one side & have a flange on the other end that slides into the Cokin holder. You need to purchase the Cokin 77mm adapter ring for the P series filter holder.

Q: 5. Will this fit into Nisi V5 Pro filter holder?

A: Yes, the Lee 100 x 150mm fits into the Nisi v5 Pro

Q: 6. I have a tamron 150-600mm zoom. Is this the right size to use? Or would the 100x 150 be big enough? Thanks!

A: According to Tamron data your lens has a 95mm thread and you can get a 95mm adapter for either the 100mm or the 150mm system. You do not need any wider than 100mm for that lens. The 150mm system is for lenses smaller than 16mm so that you don't get vignetting.

Q: 7. Is this the same filter that is part of the .3,.6,.9 3 piece set?

A: Yes it is the same as offered in the 85mm set.

Q: 8. I have two wide angle lenses, one with a 77mm diameter and the other's an 82. I assume I'll need an 82mm adapter as well as the 77. Is that correct and where do I find it?

A: That is correct. You can click on the link to view the items; https://bhpho.to/2vBKhB2 https://bhpho.to/2xcZU2i

Q: 9. 82mm adapter for Lee GND filter

A: If you are intending to use this filter with the Lee Foundation kit, this would be the compatible 82mm lens adapter: https://bhpho.to/2sSscdG

Q: 10. I will use this on a 77mm. Why shouldn't I just get a screw on?

A: What do you do if you get a different lens with a larger diameter? More importantly a screw on doesn't let you adjust for where the horizon is in your composition.
