Beautiful image when shooting in the right light, just like any camera. NOT a run and gun type camera, in my opinion, unless you have all of the gear for stabilization. Comes with Resolve which is an all-in-one post production dream.

I was looking for a cinema camera in a good price, this a great option for entry cinematographers and videographers. People are complaining about the battery life but this is not your ordinary wedding cam, this cam is for big projects and control environments. If you are looking for a camera To shoot weddings and a camera that does everything for you, let me break it for you, this cam is not for you.....

I love this camera for the price. Now that the 6k has come down in price, depending on your situation it might make sense to go that route. I did not want EF mount or dealing with giant 6k raw files. I enjoy the 4k with a speed booster and my Nikon mount lenses.

This is easily the very best cinema camera at this price point. Solid construction, easy menu navigation, great codecs, and superb image rendering. Besides Blackmagic, I only shoot on Arri's and film stock. Blackmagic has professional caliber customer service, whereas many of the prosumer gear in this price bracket tend to treat their customers more like consumers than professionals. Blackmagic's a company I've come to trust.

This camera looks great, feels more like DSLR than the Black Magic Cinema (2.5K) that I’ve used for years. Great picture. The touch screen is great and the images are fantastic. I’m very happy with this camera.

I just upgraded from the old BMPCC and this is like upgrading to a hot hatch from a commuter’s bicycle. The LCD screen is big, bold, and bright as any monitor you would buy, pretty easy to see from an angle too. I would definitely try it before assuming you need to invest in more gear. Obviously you can read/watch hundreds of rave reviews of all the awesome features - video formats, media usage, menu design, audio inputs, etc. The two biggest issues I’ve encountered so far (from making this the perfect camera), is Autofocus and Battery life. Obviously this beast takes power, there’s no getting around that, so just be prepared and you’ll be fine. As for focus, you can auto focus to the center of the frame with a button (with a cooperating lens), but that’s it, there doesn’t seem to be a way to move that focus spot around. However, being an iPhone user, I found the “Bluetooth for Blackmagic Cameras” app ($5.99 I think?) which provides great settings control from my phone, including a focus slider with customizable targets and transition durations. It doesn’t track your image, and needs to be reset if you manually adjust, but it’s pretty easy to set up and execute a shot - I’ll either mount my phone as a focus toggle, or have an asst. pull for me. You can also custom slate from this app too.

Overall - this is hands down the best camera I’ve worked with.
