I use this RAID for video editing applications. It's quiet, reliable and smart. Wonderful machine. The connection is super-fast.

I make videos in Africa. I have about 15 TB of footage that I've accumulated over the past twenty years. Until now it has been almost impossible for me to organize it properly. I purchased the Pegasus2 with 18 TB of storage, and my work has changed significantly. I now can find all of my footage in one place without having to swap hard drives back and forth between naked drive docks. The Pegasus works smoothly, very very quietly, is very easy to set up and get working with. I have not had to change a hard drive yet so I will let you know when that happens. Along with the purchase of my new Mac Pro, this is the best purchase I have made in five years. I very strongly recommend this to anybody who has lots of big files to store.

This item is used in a small Event Videography company. We had problems editing MultiCam. This Raid System solved all the problems! It's fast, east to connect, and is not software raid! I haven't had it fail, so I don't know how the process is for restoring things, hopefully, it's as easy as setup was!

I've used a Pegasus R4 in a 10+ user CAD and document file sharing environment for a few years. I've been very impressed with its speed and consistency. It just works. I've used other Promise tech and various other brands of large-format storage for many applications over the years, but Promise has always proven to be the best. So when I needed a RAID solution for my own video editing and graphics design business, the first place I went was to the Pegasus2. What can I say but the Promise is true. I'm very pleased with the unit so far, and I would certainly recommend them to anyone who needs fast, quiet, and reliable TB2 storage.

I've been working with these drives for over 6 months now and I love them. They are very fast and haven't given me any problems yet.

I just transferred 20 Gb of video files from my hard drive to the Pegasus in under one minute. The same transfer via USB 2 took about twenty minutes. So this drive does what it claims. Another plus, using RAID 5 (which is how the drives are configured when they arrive) you only lose one drive's worth of space for the RAID data protection. So the 12 TB drive yields 10 TB of actual capacity -- with data protection. The only small glitch was that when the drive arrived, it had a tendency to eject itself momentarily when the computer woke from sleep. This was corrected with a quick firmware update -- no problems since then. Support staff is very quick to respond and quite professional. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

I've only used this for two Weeks now, but thus far this has been great. Mind you I was using a hard drive with USB 2 prior to this, so pretty much anything now would be better than what I had. This unit is pretty quiet, it does transfer data really quick, and the design looks clean. Easy to set up. It's actually enjoyable using my iTunes and iPhoto now since things pull up quickly, transfer quickly and can be searched quickly. Final cut seems to have no problems, although I'm only using standard HD content at this point. Haven't ventured into the 4k stuff yet. If you have the funds for something as simple as hard drive, this is a great product. They should however have added a longer thunderbolt cable... the one that comes with it is really short.

I had an older Pegasus Raid that would cause new Mac Pros to fail on wake up. The Pegasus2 R6 works great even when the Mac goes to sleep. All my programs, e.g. Nuke, FCPX, etc. keep working after wake up. Data transfer with Thunderbolt2 is also super fast.

Promise is a good name as his device looks great and just implies confidence iand reliability right out of the box. Superbly well packed, my Pegasus was ready to go despite whatever it may hav experienced along its travels. A nice surprise was the inclusion of a thunderbolt cable which I was led to believe was not included. The device is painless to set up and immediately began its initialization process without a hitch. Promise really has a winner here with a quiet running solid platform for one's irreplaceable data. B&H gets special mention as a vendor, I was amazed first by the competitive price and then how they practically beamed this device to my overseas office. B&H's rapid order processing and shipping beats th competition hands down!
