I keep this lens on my D7000 most of the time. It allows me to take great photos indoors when the light conditions aren't that great. I especially like the option to quickly switch to manual simply by grabbing the focus ring. Fantastic value for the money 5

I wanted a normal lens for my DX camera (50mm equiv.) and this fits the bill. At f/1.8 it's fine for low light without the much higher cost of an f/1.4 lens. It seems as well made as my other Nikkor lens and I'm very happy with it. 5

Takes incredible pics compared to the 18-55 mm that comes with the camera (I bough a 3200). The pics are sharper, and the bigger apperture allows you to take pics in low light. After using M/A focus you wish all lenses had the feature. Nikon should make a combo with this lenses, giving the option between the 18-55 they sell today and this one. 5

This lens is excellent, especially for the price. I haven't had a lot of time to really test it, but with the time I've spent so far, I'm getting great results. Nice bokeh, great in low light, and lightweight. I would definitely recommend having this lens! 5

I had a 35MM F1.8 previously and knew that it was awesome, but the 50MM just opens up so many other options for taking the shot. The angles are amazing, the sharpness, 2nd to none. A MUST for your lens arsenal! 5

I bought this lens to use on my older Nikon D60, hoping to produce better pictures than the zoom kit lens does. The pictures turned out very nicely! It has worked beautifully as both a portrait lens as well as taking great still flower photos. Originally I could not decide between the fixed 50mm or 35mm. I made the right choice! 5

I use this lens on a DX sensor (you cannot use it on FX). This is best for indoor family/friends/kids photography. In the normal indoor lighting you can get great quality pictures. in poor lighting, raise ISO and you get decent photos. Also, a great lens to photograph night sky. 5
