Designed to enhance your productivity, this hub provides you with an array of important ports so you can work on the go, deliver presentations, and even use a wide range of peripherals no matter where you are.

An integrated USB-C cable connects to your DisplayPort Alt-Mode enabled notebook and is compatible with Thunderbolt 4 and USB4 interfaces, giving you full access to the range of ports. Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What apps will have permission to read data connected via this hub? For example, can external storage be used with iTunes or only via third-party software?

A: There are a number of bug reports of issues with the current iOS version on the iPad pro having problems reading media cards without huge numbers of hoops to be jumped through. Remember: iOS does not treat external memory cards as "just another file system" to work with.

Q: 2. Can it get charged via the USB-C (as opposed to the iPad charging other device)?

A: Yes, this can be used to charge a USBC device while connected to the computer.

Q: 3. What "apple" certification does this have? I have bought SO MANY dongles and connectors that are SUPPOSED to work with apple products. After 3 months or the next iOS upgrade - I always get an error message stating that this is NOT AN AUTHENTIC Apple product and may not work. (And of course - it is will now no longer work).

A: In order for an item to be Apple Certified, it would have to pass a series of tests. And after that Apple would have to test it. If everything passes it would be officially Apple certified

Q: 4. How do you charge the iPad when using this contraption?

A: This hub charges the laptop via the USBC Pass Through charging port on the front of the hub.

Q: 5. Does this come with the grip attachments?

A: The Sanho HyperDrive USB Type-C Hub for iPad Pro 2018 (Space Gray) B&H # SAHD319AG includes in the box: Sanho HyperDrive USB Type-C Hub for iPad Pro 2018 (Space Gray) Removable Soft Grip Limited 1-Year Warranty

Q: 6. I tried plugging a USB to the hub. Unfortunately, I can not see the movie content of the USB. Please help

A: As long as you have updated to iPad iOS or iOS 13 you should be able to view the movie. With the update the c port will allow all ports of hyperdrive to be used at once for the same kind of connection you would make to a laptop (except it is not a lighting port so it cannot handle external drives made for that high speed connection -- however, usb c gen 2 are no problem). If you are continuing to have issues after update, try going to your file app and copying the movie to the iPad before playing.

Q: 7. Can I read a usb drive storage and transfer data?

A: Because the iPad pro doesn't support a USB hard drive, you should be able to use a flash drive in the USB Type-A port.

Q: 8. Will this enable transferring data (raw camera files) from the IPad Pro to a SSD? Currently one can only export via WiFi.

A: If your external SSD would be via USB C, then you would be able to transfer from the iPad to the SSD or the SSD to the iPad.

Q: 9. what is the transfer speed of sd card reader in hub?

A: @David, based on the BlackMagic sppedtest with Samsung EVO 128GB Micro SDXC card, the read speed is 37MB/s and write speed is 18MB/s

Q: 10. Will this work on an older IPad Pro??

A: No, this would just work with both 11” and 12.9” iPad Pro with or without Apple Smart (Keyboard) Folio
