A: The case is great for moving the telescope around in a car, but I would not check it in on a airplane. While it is well padded, it is still possible to have the contents move around and I would be concerned that damage could occur if dropped or miss-handled.

I have a focus motor on my OTA and together with the front cover this adds another 9-10 cm (~4") to the length. Will it fit on ths case or do I need to order the case for the 9.25 scope instead?

A: Not in my opinion. I use the case for my 8 inch optical tube assembly only, but it is not a Nexstar with integrated fork mount. This case is only designed to fit the Nexstar 4/5/6 inch, or the 8 inch OTA.
