A: Yes, Venus Optics Laowa 15mm f/2 FE Zero-D Lens for Sony E is excellent for Video recording. It has an aperture D-click ring and the consistency of the manual focus ring is outstanding.

Q: 3. Is this compatible to A7rII??

A: The Laowa 15mm f/2 is compatible with all Sony e-mount camera bodies. I use it with the a7rii and it works fine. I also have the a6300 and a6000 (converted for infrared) but only use it on the a7rii to take advantage of the super wide angle focal length.There is some vignetting at f/2, but little distortion,and sharp at f/2 in the center and better stopped down including corners.Based on it's attributes I use it for architecture and astro photography.

Q: 4. I am considering this lens for real estate videography, I also saw that there is the Samyang AF 14mm F2.8 and other lenses from other brands. I would like a lens that has no distortion at all and is of good quality. Which of the two do you recommend? Thank you

A: The Laowa is sharp and has very little distortion, that is a great choice for RE photography.

Q: 5. One comment said you can't see the exposure when taking the picture? Is this true? I find that hard to believe. Thank you.

A: Venus Optics Laowa 15mm f/2 FE Zero-D Lens for Nikon Z is a full manual operation lens. It does not have electronic contacts to communicate with the camera therefore the aperture information is not available in the camera or under the file metadata. Any other exposure information is display on the camera.

Q: 8. does this have infinity focus marking?

A: Yes, the Laowa 15mm has an infinity mark. On my copy, the rotational stop is just slightly past the center of the infinity symbol.

Q: 9. Will I be able to attach a 72-to-77mm step-up ring when the lens hood is attached?

A: Unfortunately no, a step up ring cannot be used with the hood.
