  • Before virtual instrument plug-ins became commonplace, Roland's instruments like the JV-1080, XP-80, XV-5080, and numerous others offered the ability to expand their sounds with user-installable SRX wave expansion boards, each loaded with a specialized sampled waveform set for different styles and genres.
  • Roland’s wave expansion board releases eventually grew to over 30 titles including strings, brass, pianos, electric pianos, keyboards, and orchestral sounds.

  • 1702 waveforms and 393 patches derived from legacy SRX and SR-JV80 wave expansion boards
  • Digital Circuit Behavior (DCB) faithfully replicates the hardware’s digital components and circuitry to captures every details of the original synth
  • Intuitive user interface with deep sound-shaping parameters
  • Enhance sounds with built-in reverb, chorus, and 78 multi-effects types
  • Save customized sounds in unlimited user banks

  • The SRX plug-in features deep synth-editing parameters to customize sounds any way you like. Knobs and sliders on contemporary Roland hardware synthesizers like the SYSTEM-8 can map to the plug-ins, speeding up your workflow with direct, hands-on control.

  • The Lifetime Key system provides an evolving service that includes free lifetime updates, cloud-based mobility with installation for up to five devices, and access to current Test Drive promotions of instruments and patch collections.
  • A Lifetime Key is a cloud-based authorization for Roland Cloud instruments. Roland Cloud Membership and Lifetime Keys are managed through an online ID called a Roland Account.
  • A free Roland Account is required to access Roland Cloud Manager and will periodically connect to the internet to authorize your Membership and/or Lifetime Keys.
  • Lifetime Key is active as long as your Roland account is active—even if you’re not a paying member.

Here is more info from Roland - Connect your iPad to an HDMI input and switch wireless camera feeds from iOS and Android smartphones and tablets, as well as screen shares from computers and mobile devices. Q: 8. Is this essentially a GoXLR without having to spend hundreds more?

A: No, not at all. The VT-4 is completely different from the TC Go XLR. The Go XLR is a broadcast mixer for use with a Windows-based computer. Its built-in effects and processing are designed to enhance the sound of a person's voice with EQ, compression, de-essing and gating for clear, broadcast-quality audio. The VT-4 is primarily a voice processor that can add subtle effects like reverb or delay to enhance the sound of a person's voice or radically change it by using heavier effects like pitch shifting, harmonizing, vocoding and other effects which can make it sound completely different. The VT-4 can make the voice sound robotic or make a male voice sound female, make a female voice sound male. The alterations can be used for recording music and creating layered vocal tracks or other applications where you want different types of effects to reshape the voice.

Q: 9. Can this be connected to the MIC IN of a video camera to record the tweaked audio (with video)?

A: You could use a line-to-mic attenuator cable to take the output from the headphone jack on the Roland AIRA Compact E-4 Voice Tweaker and connect it to the mic input on the camera. You can use the Kopul ACH4-25MON Line-to-Mic Attenuator Cable (B&H # KOACH425MON), which has a built-in headphone tap to monitor the audio. To extend the length, you can use a standard aux cable like the Hosa Technology Stereo Mini Male to Stereo Mini Male Cable - 10' (B&H # HOSMMSMM10) in any length you prefer.

Q: 10. How do you record your live stream? Is there a process since the app doesn't record? How can you make something that plays video and audio and does not record?

A: Coming in Q2 2022 for the Roland AeroCaster Livestreaming System :Capturing local audio/video content on each connected smartphone and wirelessly transfer the smartphone content to the iPad.
