Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is there a space to add a strap in the lower right side (near to the battery side?)

A: The Tilta Half Camera Cage for Sony a7R V (Black) does not have space to add a strap.

Q: 2. what is the difference between the PSLO-a7RIV and the PSLO-a7RVN?

A: Sunwayfoto Dedicated L-Bracket for Sony a7R IV and the PSLO-a7RIV are about the same and the latest version is the SUPSLOA7RIVN.

Q: 3. Does this work with the RX100 shooting grip attached?

A: No, it will not. Any additional camera grips would have to be removed before inserting the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 VI Digital Camera inside the Ikelite Underwater Housing for Sony Cyber-shot RX100 Mark VI. There is not enough clearance to use a grip with the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 VI Digital Camera, and attempting to use one would prevent the housing from closing properly for underwater usage and may prevent the buttons on the housing from properly aligning with the buttons on the camera.

Q: 4. Does the RX100 VA fit on this?

A: The Sony Cyber-shot RX100 VA will fit in the Ikelite Underwater Housing for Sony Cyber-shot RX100 Mark III, IV, or V (Updated Version, White).

Q: 5. Does this camera work with the A6000 camera? You mention higher series versions but not the A6000 specifically.

A: The Ikelite 200DLM/A Underwater Housing for Sony Alpha A6300, A6400, A6500 Mirrorless Camera, BH #IK6911.64, is incompatible with the Sony Alpha a6000 Mirrorless Digital Camera. The Ikelite 200DLM/A Underwater Housing for Sony Alpha a6000 Mirrorless Camera, BH #IKUWHSAA600, is compatible.

Q: 6. How long will the video light last while taking photos?

A: The Ikelite DS232 213Ws Underwater TTL Strobe with Video Light (US Power Supply) will last 1:15 minutes at full power. Half power for 4:45 minutes and 1/4 power for over 8 hours.

Q: 7. Does this L plate have an integrated QD socket?

Q: 8. Can you do wide angle shots at 24mm without vignetting?

A: The Ikelite Underwater Housing for Sony Cyber-shot RX100 Mark VI is made for that camera. It has a 1" sensor with a 9 to 72mm lens and the housing is designed to accommodate that lens even a 9mm. (The Full Frame sensor Equivalent Focal Length: 24 to 200mm)

Q: 9. what is the effective usable range of the zoom with the included port ?

A: Included port accommodates the camera's full 24-200mm zoom range underwater.

Q: 10. Is this one works with a9ii?

A: Unfortunately, this SmallRig Baseplate is only for the Sony A7 IV.

So many times with other Sony cameras the exposures were blown out as I had not noticed that the compensation dial on a corner of the camera had moved unintentionally. Sony has fixed this with a lock on the knob. Great news! Everything about this camera is an upgrade and of course 61 beautiful megapixels and excellent vibrant color! I love it.

I've only had this camera for a couple day and already love it! The contrast and color range is fantastic and I am able to blow up full frame photos to much larger sizes.

Get one you too will love it.

I like to shoot with lens setting as wide opened. I like to shoot with low angles to exaggerate the poses of a model. A few year ago, with my Canon 5D mark IV, I typically kneed down or lied on the floor using optical view finder to take the shot. I like to shoot movements, I have to use the back-bottom focus because of the focus system cannot keep up. With my Sony A7RIII, I relied on the back screen using eye-focus and moving the focus point to the model's eye if the eye-focus fails to check the eye. It is much better but it is still slow if eye-focus is not working. With the firmware updated of Sony A7RIII, eye-focus is much better but the object checking is NOT working. So I did not change my workflow much. When I saw the initial preview of the A7R IV at the release announcement , the improvement of the eye-focus teased me to preorder this camera. I have only two model shoots so far, I am super happy with this camera with eye-focus and object tracking. Now I can just point and shoot, even in a dark urban environment (see the uploaded photo). It really improves my workflow and let me to catch the Kodak moment.
PRO:
- focus ( game changing - I don't own a A9)
- 61MP (Yes, I do crop of the pictures a lot and I like shoot movements. However 42MP is good enough for me too)
- new EFV looks better but not significant.
CON:
- The grip ( I don't feel much improvement and it is still uncomfortable for me. I ordered vertical grip but it costs another $50 extra comparing to A7RIII for no new features)
- Navigation of the camera manual system is still outdated. No Smart phone like interface.

I actually wanted to give the camera 4 1/2 stars but that was not an option. The camera takes amazing pictures and has been improved over the a7r iii in several major respects. My only criticism is that they still have not improved the menu system much. It is way to long, complicated and confusing. Once you get through it, however, this is an amazing instrument. The tracking focus works very well as does the eye focus. In most cases the focus speed is nearly instantaneous. The photos are astonishing...like medium format detail and depth. Battery life improved too. Highly recommended!
