Use your Sony Alpha a7R V mirrorless digital camera to capture brilliant photos and video of the undersea world with the Aquatica A7R V Underwater Housing. It features a depth rating of 300', which can be upgraded to 450' with Aquatica's optional spring kit, and is equipped with a Surveyor Vacuum System with a vacuum pump, sensor, and alarm so you can check the integrity of your seal before you dive. This version of the housing ships without strobe connectors and is specifically intended for video recording, so be sure to grab an LED or other type of constant video light for sufficient illumination and color correction.

The standard, coated eyepiece offers a full view of the camera's viewfinder. The housing provides access to virtually all camera functions via mechanical controls, and it offers an ergonomic design with two grips for secure handling and attachment of optional lighting arms. Built for durability, especially resistance to corrosion, the housing is constructed from anodized, machined aluminum and stainless steel.

The A7R V housing ships without a required lens port, though various interchangeable ports are available for different lenses. For full compatibility, see the Port Chart.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this L plate have an integrated QD socket?

A: The Leofoto L Plate for Sony a7R5 with Battery Grip BH #LELPSA7R5B features an integrated hand strap loop, a QD port for straps, and a magnetic slot key tool on the bottom for convenience.

Q: 2. What is the buoyancy of the housing with camera loaded. Does it require additional weights to become neutral similar to Canon ones?

A: I upgraded from a SeaLife and had the arm and video light attachment. Using this device with the Sony, is the perfect bouncy.

Q: 3. Does this cage block the C1 and C2 buttons on the top right of the camera? Is there a picture from the top down?

A: It does not cover the C1 and C2 buttons.

Q: 4. Will this housing work with the adapter ring for the Sony VFA-49R1 49mm Filter Adapter on the front of the camera? I don't mean the FULL adapter, but the small plastic ring that gets glued to the front of the camera body. This would be a deal breaker for me... as I can't just rip off the filter adapter to use this underwater housing whenever I'd like.

A: I don't have the Sony adapter, but I have a third-party filter adapter that has a metal ring that gets glued to the lens, and that works just fine with the housing.

Q: 5. Is there any way to adapt the QD Socket to a normal threaded socket to be able to use my Blackrapid camera strap? I guess I mistakenly purchased this L Bracket from B&H thinking it would be like the previous Kirk L Bracket I have for my Sony a9 and this one for the Sony a7rv is not completely compatible.

A: No you can not change the QD socket on the Kirk L-Bracket for Sony a7R V to a thread. But you can use most black rapid straps with this and it will work on that bracket, https://bhpho.to/3BqJGRe .

Q: 6. what is the difference between the PSLO-a7RIV and the PSLO-a7RVN?

A: Sunwayfoto Dedicated L-Bracket for Sony a7R IV and the PSLO-a7RIV are about the same and the latest version is the SUPSLOA7RIVN.

Q: 7. Will the rx100 V work? The video record button is in a different spot than the other models.

A: Yup, just used it on my rx100 V scuba diving in Hawaii with no issues. Easily switched from taking photos to video several times.

Q: 8. Is this one works with a9ii?

A: Unfortunately, this SmallRig Baseplate is only for the Sony A7 IV.

Q: 9. Will this work with the new RX100 VI?

A: I just received mine with a new RX100VI. It will work, but there are a few issues from what I can tell. First, the LCD doesn't line up quite right and you can't see the right few millimeters (not a big deal). Second, you have to make sure not to zoom past 70mm or the lens hits the housing and the camera then asks you to power down and then power back up to reset the zoom. So far this doesn't seem like a big issue, but I haven't used it underwater yet and I'm not sure how much of a nuisance this will be. (I have to amend my last post on this because I mentioned that the power button wasn't usable when the camera was in the housing. I was wrong, I just had it set up improperly.)

Q: 10. Can you stretch the vertical side of the plate away from the camera to allow easier access to the side door?

A: The camera screw on the bottom of the Kirk L-Bracket for Sony a7R V is in a longer groove that allows the whole bracket to be mounted more to the side for easier port access.

Traded up from my A7Riii and have to say after having it now for 4 days.. it’s a very worthy update even though my now used A7Riii will soon be in the hands of someone at a heavy discount. Resolution with Sony GM glass and especially the 24mm 1.4 GM and the 135 GM is astounding.. ergonomics and even something as small as the sound of the new shutter are highly welcome. The autofocus is so fast and the tracking is so good (yes slightly slower than the A9) but at 61 Mega pixels is outrageous at this price range. Set a custom button to switch to APS-C for further Focal Length reach at 26 megapixels and you have practically two cameras in one.. so you can carry fewer lenses and still get great resolution and AF at 61Mp and 26MP.. Note however, that the 61 mega pixel resolution will be degraded at ISOs above base ISOs so keep it whenever possible below 800 ISO.. this camera is an absolute monster when you have good light, fast glass and if you provide your own light via flash or strobes in very low light. Get the A7iii when shooting in very low light without a light source..

This camera has definitely given me back my photographic spark. The image quality is superb and the build is excellent. I am still getting use to it in studio because it is a little slow on the firing but I only did one shoot so I will see if I just get use to it. Other than that I think I am going to be a Sony fan for a while.

with twice as many megapixels as the Canon 5DIV it replaced I am thrilled with my images. As a wildlife photographer I often have to crop my shots. I did that yesterday big time and a small bird at distance. The crop is very detailed and will print at 8x10

This camera does what I need it to do: provides me with much better cropability when I need it that does not visibly degrade the image, and gives me better auto-focus & tracking capabilities than the A7R3t, all while providing me with better ergonomics. I can understand power-users' complaints of buffering issues, but hey, 61MP will DO that. As an average user, I am more than satisfied with this new evolution.
While many will nit-pick this camera to death, remember that the perfect is the enemy of the VERY ,VERY GOOD.

This purchase was perfect, all of the necessary basics (besides the lens came included in the bundle. The body itself is phenomenal. It has a good heft and the quality feels durable. It’s very easy to handle and it’s been really fun shooting with it.
