Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Has this cable been tested for powering a camera? I asked Black Magic and they don't know if it will work with their Ursa G2 cameras.

A: Yes. Unit offers a 4-Pin XLR Male to Female 12V Power Cable.

Q: 2. Can I capture with se-650

A: Yes. This has both HDMI and SDI outputs which you can use with Capture Devices like the options from Magewell. HDMI Capture - https://bhpho.to/3hO4WFn SDI Capture - https://bhpho.to/3hH2uAm

Q: 3. Will the 5-pin xlr work for comm as well as tally?

A: Yes it will. The 5-pin XLR is for both Talkback and Tally.

Q: 4. Are both HDMI outputs assignable? Or is one used for the multiviewer? I'd like to use one as the multiviewer and other HDMI output feed into a recording/streaming device.

A: The SE-1200MU has one assignable HDMI output and two assignable SDI outputs. The second HDMI output is for the multi-view only.

Q: 5. Can I use a consumer camera with BNC out, like the BNC on datavideo SE-500

A: Hello,No, BNC connector on the SE-500 is for a Composite signal input. Our SE-1200MU switcher is a HD switcher that accepts HD-SDI or HDMI signals. It is compatible with Composite output from a consumer camera. Thanks!

Q: 6. How can I use to be controlled by the pc or where to find the software?

A: You can download the PC control software within the Firmware folder, which you can download from the SE-1200MU page on a href= http://www.resource.datavideo.com/firmware/Datavideo_SE-1200%20Controller%20Small%20v1.3.0.8.zip target= _blank http://www.resource.datavideo.com/firmware/Datavideo_SE-1200%20Controller%20Small%20v1.3.0.8.zip/a

Q: 7. it is work with alpha key & fill inputs to make a layer inside it?

A: This switcher has the ability to Chroma Key and it also has two Downstream Keyers for bringing in graphics and titles.

Q: 8. Will the Datavideo DE-650 record each input into a separate MP4 video file?

A: Unfortunately it will not. That is not possible with this switcher. For ISO recording of each input you'd need to look at Software and Computer Based Switching solutions. The Telestream Wirecast Gear 110 is a great option to consider, BH #TEWCGEAR110. https://bhpho.to/2kPYog8

Q: 9. Does this have only one SDI cable or two? Description says "an", but the picture shows 2.

A: It has one SDI cable and one Composite cable. Both have BNC Connectors, however one is a digital HD-SDI Cable and other is an Analog Composite Cable.

Q: 10. Does This Have PIP in it? Because I'm really liking this one than the Blackmagic Switchers out there, I'm comparing it to the Datavideo SE-2200 Which has the same 6 channel inputs but that one has a little bit of advantage than this one. I.E 2x PIP and the Overlay Thing. So does this have a PIP then?

A: Yes it does, the Datavideo SE-1200MU does offer a Picture-In-Picture effect.

All in-one switcher which includes streaming and recording, is great. I use it for corporate events and I love how easy it is to set up with 3 cameras. I used to have haul in a flight pack of gear, but now I walk in a briefcase size switcher. Very nice.

The Datavido HDR-80 is a compact video recorder for up to four SDI 1080p60 camera feeds at once. It records to a pair of SSD carts, in a tag-team (serial) fashion. You can hot-swap a filled drive for continuous operation. Setup is straight forward, with a touch screen. Recordings are in Apple ProRes422, including standard, HQ, LT, and Proxie compression. It can also record one channel of 4K60, via HDMI or SDI. As a real plus, the HDR-80 writes file headers continually, so that you lose only a few seconds of video if the power fails.

This switcher is very simple to set up and use. The quad preview feature takes a little getting used to, but that is pretty minor. Overall a very good product.
