Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can the clamp be rotated 90° to accommodate collared lenses?

A: Yes, you can attach the clamp the long way on the rail with the allen key.

Q: 2. What is a Q. D. Insert?

A: QD Insert is this hardware that allows you to attach a strap to the bottom of the rail. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1692377-REG/kirk_kqd_dloop_quick_disconnect_push_button.html

Q: 3. Does this fit directly and lock into the Manfrotto 500AH or is another arca swiss clamp required as a bridge between Manfrotto and this rail?

A: Manfrotto 500AH does not have Arca Compatible clamp. You should use the Kirk Quick Release Bridge System for Manfrotto MVH 500 Fluid Video Head. Here is the link: https://bhpho.to/3iAaLHn

Q: 4. Is there a threaded hole or baby pin insert at the bottom of the boom pole?

A: The Neewer MS-230C Handheld Telescoping Boom pole (7.5') does not have any threaded holes or 5/8" female receiver at the bottom of the boom pole.

Q: 5. max payload for 8'?

A: The E-Image BA09 does not have a spec for maximum weight capacity, but it has enough tensile strength to support most shotgun microphones and wind protection systems.

Q: 6. Is the arca swiss clamp included or extra?

A: This comes with the clamp.

Q: 7. Can I use this with a BH-55 head from really right stuff?

A: Yes :)

Q: 8. Is the listed load capacity at max reach or minimum? I need something that can hold an AD400 with 24-36" beauty dish.

A: The Manufacture does not list the support weight at full extension for the Neewer MS-230C Handheld Telescoping Boompole (7.5'). That length it is best to use this one, BH #PHEPLP (https://bhpho.to/3M4wQxk).

Q: 9. If this is mounted vertically on a copy stand (for use as a "microscope" setup), would the action be smooth and precise, even at 4x magnification? It would be a working distance of about 10mm from microscope objective to subject. This would be a ≈5lb. camera/lens setup attached to this rail. Thank you!

A: Because it is a heavier camera and lens set up, I would probably not use this one unfortunately. The one that I would trust the most would be the following: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/554343-REG/Manfrotto_454_454_Micrometric_Positioning_Sliding.html Due to the fact that you can screw down a tension knob that very securely locks it into place. This would be the strongest one that I would recommend for a setup such as yours.

Q: 10. is this sturdy enough to put a d810 and 14-24 lens on. I'm using this for elevated shots?

A: Yes - I typically use this for booming a shotgun mic, but I have put an Arri 300 on it, which is about 4lb / 1.8kg (on a c-stand) telescoped out to the first extension without any problem
