With a 8x filter factor that reduces exposure by 3 stops, this 75 x 100mm NanoPro MC Soft Edge Graduated Filter from Haida is designed to darken select portions of your image without affecting image sharpness or color reproduction. It features a soft edge in its center, slowly fading from completely clear to partially darkened as we move towards the top. This allows the filter to keep bright skies under control without creating a line in the image.

The NanoPro MC is made of optical glass and features a 2mm thickness compatible with a wide range of holders. Both sides of the filter are treated with several layers of coating, resulting in minimized reflections and increased resistance to scratches. The multicoated construction also makes it easier to clean water and other debris from the glass surface, suiting it for use in the outdoors.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How fast is the autofocus? I use Nikon's 60mm macro for pet photography and I need to know if this new lens will be comparable

A: The autofocus on the Nikon NIKKOR Z MC 50mm f/2.8 Macro Lens would be just as fast as the Nikon AF-S 60mm f/2.8 Micro-Nikkor.

Q: 2. What lens cap should I buy to replace one I lost?

A: The replacement lens cap for the Nikon NIKKOR Z MC 50mm f/2.8 Macro Lens is the Nikon LC-46B 46mm Snap-On Front Lens Cap: https://bhpho.to/4dGGa5T. Or, as an alternative, you can use the Sensei 46mm Center Pinch Snap-On Lens Cap: https://bhpho.to/4f4D4cK.

Q: 3. What size UV filter will fit on this lens?

A: Nikon NIKKOR Z MC 50mm f/2.8 Macro Lens accepts 43 mm screw in filters.

Q: 4. Could I put this on a Micro 4/3rds camera w/Flip out OLED display (and telephoto lens)??

A: The Celestron EclipSmart Universal Solar Filter for Optics 75mm to 100mm, is technically too big a filter for most Micro Four Thirds camera lenses. If you had a lens that was as big as 62mm- 72mm filter mount , you could use the Celestron EclipSmart Universal Solar Filter for Optics 75mm to 100mm.You may need to use some gaffers tape to keep it in place.

Q: 5. Does this item let me use Lee SW150 filters on the Sony 14mm lens without buying anything else?

A: The Haida M15 Filter Holder Kit for Sony 14mm Lens includes everything you need to use Lee 150mm wide filters on the Sony FE 14mm f/1.8 GM Lens.

Q: 6. Z30 with Z MC 50mm with ES-2 slide copier- Will the 1.5 crop factor apply?

A: Unfortunately yes. Due to the crop factor in the Z30 a lot of the original slide would be cut off. It would be recommended to use a full frame camera instead or a film scanner such as this Plustek: https://bhpho.to/3RwIfIy

Q: 7. Celestron says “ Never use this filter if your camera has an optical viewfinder.” Does that mean to not use it on a Nikon D500?

A: Because the Nikon D500 viewfinder is looking through the lens that is filtered, it is safe to use the Celestron EclipSmart Universal Solar Filter for Optics 75mm to 100mm with your camera.

Q: 8. Does it avoid any vignetting?

A: The Haida M15 Kit for Sigma 14-24mm f/2.8 DG DN Art Lens (Sony E- and Leica L-Mount) will not vignette on the Sigma 14-24mm f/2.8 DG DN Art Lens for Sony E or Leica L cameras.

Q: 9. Is the diameter of the actual filter part?

A: The diameter of the actual solar filter on the Celestron EclipSmart Universal Solar Filter is 63.5mm.

Q: 10. How does this compare in terms of general practical application to the Z 1.8s 50mm prime lens?

A: You are losing over a stop in comparison to the Nikon NIKKOR Z 50mm f/1.8 S Lens. If you want to Macro then this is the one you want. If Macro is not that important, I would go with the 50mm f1.8 linked here. https://bhpho.to/3pdkYwJ
