The Apogee Electronics 2x6 SE is a special-edition mastering I/O card designed to deliver high-performance A/D and D/A conversion at up to 192 kHz for mixing and mastering engineers in personal, project, and commercial studios. It features low THD+N (-116 dB for analog inputs, -118 dB for analog outputs) and high dynamic range (124 dBA for analog inputs and 131 dBA for analog outputs) for uncompromising accuracy and detail.

Its analog I/O includes two inputs on XLR 3-pin jacks and six outputs on a DB25 connector. Additional XLR, TOSLINK optical, and RCA coaxial jacks provide connectivity for AES/EBU, ADAT, and S/PDIF digital inputs and outputs. The 2x6 SE is easily installed in a Symphony I/O Mk II Thunderbolt or Pro Tools HD chassis.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I understand the IR beam transmitter can be set to a high or low setting. Does the transmitter go into a low power stand-by mode when not being activated? For example, if this was set up over-night would the battery quickly drain? Thanks!James B.

A: I would recommend not keeping the device on while it is not in use.

Q: 2. I ordered this and now am looking for a laser pointer so I can trigger this via a laser. Which color laser should I be using? If it matters the distance from the laser pointer and the receiver will never be more then 20-30 feet.

A: This option will work very well "Quartet MP-1200Q Class Three Standard Pen Size Laser Pointer BH #QUMP1200Q • MFR #MP-1200Q"

Q: 3. Does it work with Fuji film x t2 camera? Thanks.

A: along with the hl capcord F this will work with the XT2

Q: 4. For sound triggering, can you adjust the sensitivity of this device? Also, can you set it to delay the shutter release after it detects the sound? If so, for how long and what increments? Thanks.

A: I have only used the Captur Pro once while target shooting so far but I intend to do so more often. I had some confusion about the sensitivity but that was more not reading the directions carefully first. The lower the number the less sensitive the unit will be and I needed to make sensitivity number very low to react only to the sound of discharge and not wind noise (it happened to be a very windy day and it took a while to get the right setting to compensate for wind moving over the unit). I don't remember exactly the delay setting I used but it was around one or two milliseconds. You will have to play with the timing. The movement of the slide mechanism is very fast but I was able to capture images of spent cartridges being discharged from the pistol. As a side note I also use the unit as a remote for my Canon 60D. The button between the Lock and the Start/Stop buttons is the remote trigger. Hold halfway and it focuses, press all the way down and activates the shutter. Also, as a bonus it works with my old Canon 20D. You have to order the cords separately but they are not very expensive. The other option is to order the remote controllers but I decided not to do that just yet. Hope this helps.

Q: 5. Will it work with the Pentax K-1?

A: No, it will not work with the Pentax K-1. The system is compatible for use with Canon, Nikon, Sony, and Olympus/Panasonic cameras.

Q: 6. If this works on a hot shoe, would it work for older film SLRs?

A: The hotshoe is only for mounting the trigger on the Camera and there is no Data transfer there. Film Cameras used a Cable Release to trigger the shutter. So, I do not think the Hahnel Trigger would work.

Q: 7. Can someone please explain, in simple but clear terms, what all is needed to use this thing? I've read most of the manual and the words optional - available separately keep coming up. The same words are scattered throughout the description. I have a Nikon D7100 and it appears that a cable is necessary somehow to use this. But evidently it isn't included. Or, maybe it is based on one of the reviews. And to use it with a laser you have to buy a laser separately. How and where do you buy a laser ?Please respond in a simple manner as I have trouble envisioning what all is needed.Thank you.

A: for wired configuration the pro module connects to your camera using a P1 cable.HL-CAPCORD N this is a set of cables for all nikon cameras, the cables are available from other manufacturers as well. No a microhone is built into the pro module.https://a href= http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0iODHFbDLzo target= _blank www.youtube.com/watch?v=0iODHFbDLzo/a this youtube video shows real world examples of the triggering methods of the pro module.for IR the small module throws out a wide ir beam that is pointed at the pro module. whenever something crosses the beam i.e. (animal or person who walks past your desk), the trigger will fire and capture the image. i have used the captur pro module personally for all but the laser pointer function and have had a blast,(especially july 4th!) never have i gotten better fireworks shots.

Q: 8. Does it work with Pentax cameras?

A: it should but i don't have pentax camera

Q: 9. I have Olympus OMD EM1 mark 2 and 3. What cable would I need?

A: You will need a 2.5 sub mini cable, click the link below to view; https://bhpho.to/314utnp

Q: 10. this unit has both a laser sensor and an IR sensor. A laser beam is very narrow. How about the IR beam? Same thing? In other words, do you have to block the beam directly to trigger the unit? I'm guessing the answer is yes. So, the only difference between the two is that this unit comes with it's own IR beam (contained in the smaller module) with a short range of 12 meters...versus a laser beam that could travel much further, but has to be supplied by the user.

A: Regarding the laser beam. Yes it's much narrower / longer range. Consider adding / chaining mirrors and or prisms to re-direct the beam around corners.
