Feels well built, smooth rotation, the hard stops come in handy but cool that they can be removed for cine lenses.
This section of the review is a response to Clark S.'s review. This FF has the correct direction of rotation for most lenses. The normal rotation for focus pullers is clockwise to throw focus towards infinity and counter clockwise to pull towards close focus. When you make marks on the marking disk this becomes apparent because your farther mark will appear farther away on the disk in relation to the location arrow. One work around is to mount a rail from the top and hang the ff upside down to reverse direction.

This pocket-sized follow focus works like a charm with my compact Sony FX3 set up I primarily use for wedding videography.


I called the Shape customer service because of some concerns I had prior to purchasing the follow focus and I'm glad I did! They were super quick to answer and very helpful. When you talk to these guys, you immediately understand they are from the film industry.

This follow focus is well built, lightweight and has virtually no backlash.

Well made, I like it does not have sharp corners and contours, so it is easy to handle. Looks great on your rig. Has spring tighteners which was a nice surprise. Not listed as a feature on B and H. But that should be as it is important for rigging in tight spaces. I combined two of these onto a rod that had two 1/4 holes on both ends. They come in sizes from two inches to six. Then I screwed the SmallRig 15mm Rod Clamp into the side of the small rig Cheese Bar. I then screwed both into the back of my brick battery cheese plate. I then placed these two
SmallRig 90° 15mm Rod Clamp onto this rod. This gives me two places to put two of my Sennheisser G3 receivers both of which I screwed a
Redrock Micro microSpud into so you can pop them into the two
SmallRig 90° 15mm Rod Clamps. Now I have a Xmas tree and very neat place for my receivers at the back of my shoulder right that is rock solid, quick release, and with the receivers battery levels easily seen. Battery doors on the Sennheisers are easy to open, and everything is tucked together neatly so nothing is damage in the brick battery cheese plate area.

Very well machined, gives very tight attachments which makes me feel secure if I add other gear to it. Have only had it for a few days but I think it will have a long life.

Another strong build at a great price from our friends at SmallRig. I needed a little somethin' somethin' to adjust the viewfinder height on my FS7 and this did the trick. I'm sure you can find other clever uses...

I have only had a little time to play around with it, but it seems well-built and it fits my Panasonic GH3 long lens perfectly. The rods are very long, though, probably much longer than needed for most lenses. This made it difficult to put the camera in a case with the rig on it. I swapped them out for shorter rods and now I can leave it set up on my camera with the lens so I can just grab and go.

Great quality as always. Paired with a 8” 15mm rod I was able to extend the length of my FS5 monitor for shoulder mounted shooting.

I own a strange transmitter that lacks cheese plate mounting options. This little rail clamp was an excellent solution. The knob is really well designed for tight spaces.

Good price. Solid construction. Very tight fitting. Zero complaints. Highly recommend.

Hard to say much about this simple piece of gear, or than it is very well-built, has a nice tightening, And feels it is going to last a good while.
