The N2612S Encoder from AMX is a versatile, dual-stream, multi-codec encoder housed in a standalone box design. It boasts a high-quality, low-latency 4K60 4:4:4 MWC codec, ideal for streaming live video and intricate content across various settings like classrooms, meeting spaces, courtrooms, and bars. It includes high-compatibility, low-bandwidth 1080p H.264 and H.265 encoding, which is perfect for video distribution over congested networks and is compatible with third-party devices and networks such as Panopto, Wowza, YouTube, and Facebook.

The N2612S supports Virtual Network USB 2.0 Hub technology, facilitating transport of full-bandwidth USB 2.0 signals. This enables combining USB device signals from up to four decoders and connecting them to a single USB host on an encoder, allowing simultaneous connection of multiple remote USB devices, such as a camera near the display and an audio DSP in an equipment closet, to a laptop on the meeting room table.

Other notable features include viewing video preview images via the built-in web interface or touch panel and enhanced support for high-security networks. The unit supports Dante AV-A, a standard for AVoIP devices promoting interoperability across the network, making it compatible with Dante Controller, Dante Domain Manager, and Dante Director, and offering streamlined signal routing, configuration, and IT-level management for audio and video devices.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is the audio quality good enough that you could use this with your TV as both a soundbar for TV viewing and as a standalone video conferencing appliance, similar to the Facebook Portal TV? Or does it always need to be tethered to a computer to function for videoconferencing? I've read the manual, but still can't tell if this device is doing anything more than simply mirroring my computer's display & audio on a large screen television, which I can already do for free with my laptop, so what's the $800 buying me?

A: Yes, you can use this as a normal soundbar with your TV. However its not like the Portal TV. You need a PC to configure it and do any type of videoconferencing.

Q: 2. What's the max bitrate, resolution and framerate that this unit does?

A: The unit's cellular bandwidth cap is 5.5 Mbps, however if Ethernet or Wi-Fi is added the unit can go up to 10 Mbps. But no more than 5.5 Mbps will ever go over the cellular bandwidth

Q: 3. Height of soundbar with camera? does camera separate? will usb work as single connection for camera and sound? i'd it win10 compatible?”

A: The camera is integrated into the soundbar and doesn't remove. You can choose to play audio through the USB when connected to a PC.

The LiveU Solo can work without the subscription, but will be limited to 1 cellular network. This subscription allows for bonding of two 4G LTE cellular or WiMAX modems. Please also note that cellular connections require a plan with a cellular provider.

Q: 5. Are the modem cards included? They're in the product photos.

A: The Kiloview P3 5G Bonding Video Encoder does not come with modems, and you will need to add sims for the modem cards. You can add either the 4G modem or 5G modem cards, or any combination of the two. Up to four modems can be added.
