The RC-001T RS-485 Remote Control Module Kit from Toa Electronics is an interface module to connect between the 9000M2 Series amplifier frame and the ZM-9011, ZM-9012, ZM-9013, or ZM-9014 Remote control panel of data communication type. This remote control module features two separate links, Link A and Link B for two independent data control communications. Up to 16 remote control panels can be connected to the RC-001T. Included in the kit is an AD-246 power supply.

Q: 1. Will it work with a 40D?

A: Unfortunately I dont believe the 40D has an IR receiver so the answer is no it's not compatible. To go wireless you will need to go with a RC unit which will require a separate sensor connected to the 3 pin remote connection on your camera. I currently use the Vello FreeWave on my 5D mike and it seems to be pretty reliable although nowhere near as compact.

Q: 2. Does this work for long exposures? On Bulb?

A: Yes it does. While in bulb mode on the camera: press once to start exposure, then press a second time to end it.

Q: 3. Is this remote compatible with 7D Mark ll?

A: The remote is compatible with the Canon 7Dii.

Q: 4. Can this remote start recording videos?

A: Yes it does. I use this remote to start and stop recording videos with my 5DM3 and 5DM4 when they are mounted on my DJI Ronin. Don't forget: in your camera settings, go to Drive Mode , then select Self-Timer:2sec/Remote

Q: 5. Does it first focus with the half-press?

A: One correction I want to make, when putting my camera (5D mkIII) In Auto exposure mode, the camera will engage AF when pressing the remote control, and then take the image. When using Av mode however, the AF was not being engaged in my prior tests. So, this gives you the choice of pre-focusing prior and make sure the AF does not get done again, so have it done at the same time when pressing the R/C.

Q: 6. Q: Can i use this remote control to start video recording on canon 5d mark ii? Thanks.

A: Yes, the RC-6 will start and stop vide on the Canon 5D mk2.

Q: 7. Will this work with canon 5d mark III?

A: Yes, the Canon RC-6 Wireless Remote Control is fully compatible for use with the Canon EOS 5D Mark III DSLR Camera.

Q: 8. I need to record some video on my 70D using a prompter and remote. Is this the unit I should purchase?

A: Yes it will. Once you push to button towards your camera that's on a tripod it will take the picture or start your video if you are in the mode. I have an 80D Canon and it works fine with it and the 70D. Just make sure it's pointing at the camera and you can be several feet away, like 15 I think.

Q: 9. How do I connect this to the VS-PTC-200?

A: It is Compatible with CV502, CV505, CV565, CV343, CV345, CV365, CV350, and CV225 cameras

I use this on a shoulder rig to start and stop video recording on a 6D. Works great and has no trouble triggering the camera from the side. It will not work from behind the sensor though. Some remotes will because the signal bounces off a wall. 5

It does what it is supposed to do, remote shutter release. It is compact and lightweight and quick to use. I use a Canon 6D that will of course remote off of my phone and or a cable release which I also have but the phone requires setting up WiFi and the cable release requires digging it out of my camera bag and plugging it in to the camera. The RC-6 is easily carries on my camera strap and on the 6D it works from the front or right side or right rear of the camera. It is very quick and easy. 5
