Enjoy studio-grade multiband compression distilled into a compact, one-knob bass pedal with the Spectracomp Bass Compressor from TC-Electronic. Featuring the same MD3 dynamics engine from the System 6000 mastering processor, this ultracompact pedal makes it supremely easy to attain ideal bass dynamics with the turn of a knob.

Loaded with TonePrint compatibility, you can easily create your own custom compression algorithms through deep editing of parameters in the free editor, or try out custom premade tones made by others. True bypass ensures a tone free from color or tone suck when turning the effect off. High-quality components ensure every ounce of the MD3 engine is replicated in this tiny pedal. And with a sturdy die-cast metal case, the Spectracomp Bass will last for years of touring and abuse.

First introduced in TC-Electronic's innovative RH-series bass amps, which made dialing in supersmooth compression an absolute breeze, the Spectracomp Bass keeps the simplistic one-knob approach from the RH series, while greatly improving the compression algorithm. This gives you access to studio-quality compression tones in a microscale stompbox.

Spectracomp Bass contains the same high-quality MD3 dynamics engine known from TC-Electronic's studio production powerhouse, System 6000. This dynamics engine that has been used on countless hit-records and massive blockbuster movie productions.

This advanced algorithm applies perfectly tweaked compression for your high, mid, and low frequencies to create a more unified and balanced sound where your low strings never overtake your highs, something that’s simply not possible with the one-size-fits-all compression known from a typical stompbox. This way, you’ll get a tight and punchy attack with endless sustain, all without ever compromising the natural low-end response of your bass.

The Spectracomp Bass Compressor pedal currently enjoys active use among a wide range of professional bass players, including:

  • Andre Dre Bowman (Usher)
  • Walter Barnes Jr. (Toni Braxton)
  • Dammo Farmer (Jay Z, Usher, Rick Ross)
  • Charles Cave (White Lies)
  • Ben Epstein (Duffy, Mika, Will Young)
  • Ida Nielsen
  • Eric Smith (Rihanna)
  • Johan Wohlert (Mew)

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will the teleconverter work with the new Tamron Z 70-300 lense?

A: No, this Nikon Z Teleconverter TC-2x is only compatible with select Nikon Z lenses.

Q: 2. Can I use z 2.x teleconverter with AF Zoom-NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4-5.6G?

A: No, this converter is for Z series lenses. Click the link below to view compatible converters; https://bhpho.to/2QOuuG0 When using the 2x converter, you will not have autfocus capability.

Q: 3. will this teleconver work with AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED?

A: No, the Nikon Z Teleconverter TC-2x will not work with the Nikon AF-S VR Zoom-NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED Lens. The Nikon Z Teleconverter will only work when mounted directly to specific Z-mount lenses, it will not work with any F-mount lenses even when using the FTZ adapter. The only things that would work with that 70-300mm lens are some third party teleconverters for the F-mount, thoughquality can suffer and the camera may struggle to focus. As a thiurd party option I would look at the Kenko Teleconverter linked here, https://bhpho.to/3wVZQiE.

Q: 4. I have several AF-S lenses: Nikon, Sigma and Tamron that I use now with my 810. Can I get converters for the Z 5?

A: absolutely, the Nikon FTZ adapter will adapt your F mount lenses to the Z mount. Click the link below to view; https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?Ntt=ftz&N=0&InitialSearch=yes&sts=ma

Q: 5. Is this recommended for sports or is it better for still subjects?

A: This teleconverter can be used for sports. The 70-200 2.8 lens will have its aperture decreased to 5.6 with this teleconverter on. 5.6 is not as good in low light as 2.8 you just need to increase the ISO to compensate, but it can still be used for sports.

Q: 6. Can two of these be stacked together?

A: No, it is not possible to stack two of the Nikon Z Teleconverter TC-2x.

Q: 7. I was wondering on adjusting the Diopter for near or far sighted people, do you know which way is + and which is - ?

A: Turning the diopter adjustment wheel toward the lens Leica Visoflex 2 Electronic Viewfinder is going in the plus (+) direction. Turning the wheel toward the LCD is going in the minus (-) direction.

Q: 8. Sorry, I was not specific enough with my question. Is the indent in the back of the Tamron Z 70-300 lense large enough to accommodate the protrusion of the teleconverter, 2X, or 1.4x?

A: The Nikon Z Teleconverter TC-2x is only designed to be used with specific Nikon lenses. It will not work with other lenses such as the Tamron 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3 Di III RXD Lens for Nikon Z. Additionally it will not physically fit on that lens.

Q: 9. How many stops do you lose?

A: You'll lose 2 stops of light.

Q: 10. is the af-s 200 - 500 5.6 vr lens compatible with the z9 using the FTZ 2?

A: The Nikon Z Teleconverter TC-2x will not work on the Z8 when using the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 200-500mm f/5.6E ED VR Lens with the FTZ II adapter. The lens will work with out the teleconverter and the FTZ II. Or you can use with the lens and the adapter this teleconverter, BH #NITC20E3(https://bhpho.to/3R2Exad).

Absolutely no image degradation on any Z lens. Works great, easy to use. Tack sharp. No issues.

I love it for bird photography with a 400 mm Nikkor! I've also used it for astrophotography but noticed some slight distortion in the stars over the field ... but that's OK since this setup was not designed for astrophotography, and even then, the stellar distortions are quite small.

I've had the TC-2.0 for a year, which is also great, but needed some of the light back. Glad the wait was short, and delivery was rapid as usual. Like Arnold said I'll be back!

Excellent TC - use with Z100-400 making it 560mm at long end - fast and sharp images for both birds and limited landscape. Will be trying soon on Z180-600 and expect same results.

This teleconverter is a great addition to the Z400 f/4.5 VR-S lens . Gives the lens that extra reach when needed . Photo results are tack sharp . It is well worth the wait from B&H , who happen to be the best in the business .

Purchased this mainly to use with my new Nikon z 800mm lens. I've used it 5 or 6 times since it arrived and it's doing exactly what I thought it would do. It does slow down the AF on darker days but on a bright day it's not been an issue. B&H as always was great to deal with, quick shipping and well packed!

I’ve been using this with my 600mm f6.3 and 100-400 f4.5 - 5.6
The image quality has been great with both lenses. Great contrast and sharpness. I’m getting better results than I did using my TCIII 1.4 with my 500mm f5.6 PF and I was satisfied with those results. So I’m feeling this was a good purchase.

The Nikon Z 1.4x Teleconverter is very sharp. It compliments a variety of Z lenses.

It works well with the Z 100-400mm lens. No discernable loss of image quality, just a loss of one stop of light. With the new Z camera bodies I can get away with higher ISO settings to offset the light loss.
