Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can it accomodate a Nikon D810 with an attached 24-70?

A: I wouldn't recommend it. That combo is 12 inches long and would take up most of the room in the bag lengthwise with the dividers removed. You would have no room for any extra lenses or a flash, only room for an extra battery and a filter or two. If you only need this one lens and you don't carry a flash, it will work. But I recommend something larger for this combo. Try the Lowepro website. They have a bag finder app that matches your equipment to the bag(s) that will accommodate it. Good luck.

Q: 2. Will this tripod work with a Sony SLT-A77V?

A: It Works with my A7II and a long lens. The tripod is so light that I won't let go of the camera when it is mounted. Certainly not when extended.

Q: 3. Would this fit the canon 70d with 18-135 lense?

A: Yes Perfect

Q: 4. Can it be used as a monopod via removal of center column?

A: Does not have a removable leg like others I have owned. But extending the main tube and one leg can be used as a 54 monopod.

Q: 5. How does the twist-lock mechanism hold up over time? I photograph at the beach a lot and am worried about sand.I'm not very familiar with ball-heads - will they support my Bronica SQ ok? (It's under 8 pounds).

A: For my experience, I have a Fujifilm X-E1 with a telephoto lense and flash attachment. Altogether I don't think there are more than 8 pounds of load, but I like the twist-lock mechanism and its convenience. It's been holding up quite well for my hiking and mountain bike trips. I have gotten it wet with sand a few times and I usually wipe everything down after removing the parts. The thing you'll have to be careful is water, they tend to sip inside the legs where you twist to loosen it for extension, as that motion might bring water further in. I do say removing everything and putting it back together will do, but it's a 10-15 minutes task - but hey, it's all for keeping the equipment in good shape!

Q: 6. Will this work with a Canon 5D Mark III ?

A: It will work with a 5D, but if you want to be able to use larger lenses and have a proper ballhead for vertical mode I would recommend the RoadTrip or GlobeTrotter model.

Q: 7. Hey guys, I have the RRS camera plate on my Sony a7R. Would that fit RRS plate fit this ballhead?

A: As the Q Series Double Action Ball Head on the MeFOTO BackPacker Travel Tripod (Titanium) is compatible with Arca-Swiss type quick release plates, yes, the Really Right Stuff quick release plate should be compatible for use with the above tripod/ball head setup.

Q: 8. I like the size and design of this bag but the padding is only available at the center. Generally, I put my mirrorless with one lens in the center divider. But another flash and lens needs individual protection is unfortunately NOT provided here. What's your solution?

A: I would recommend using a wrap to keep other valuable items protected. You can view the options by clicking the link below; https://bhpho.to/2w9nInP

Q: 9. Can this be comfortably worn on the side of the body instead of behind? I will be taking a trip through third world countries and do not wish to wear the bag on my back as i would a knapsack. I would prefer to wear it on my side or towards the front of my body. Thanks.

A: Yes I actually find it more comfortable to wear on the side (under my arm) or in front when walking in large crowds. Its a fantastic, light and roomy bag that won't attract a lot of attention.

Q: 10. Does the head offer any resistance when panning (as some of the bigger versions)? this would be very useful for travel video.

A: There is resistance when panning. I used this trip pod for three months while traveling. It is light weight but like other reviews say it is on the short side. Other than that it fulfilled it's purpose.

Tripod is small and light to serve the purpose. I have tried my Canon 50D + battery grip + Tamron 18-270mm lens attached at home. There is no problem shooting portrait mode or landscape mode. The only con I have so far is the hook attached below the center column is not easy to pull out.

Photographer’s tend to need and collect tripods for various situations. I needed one that was inexpensive since I am using it to mount a wildlife camera. I didn’t want some expensive carbon fiber tripod I had to worry about. This fits the bill. Seems sturdy for my needs and it includes a small ball head! What a great deal.

I haven't taken this on a trip yet, but it seems like it'll be the perfect size to be able to take with me on trips where I want to take long-ish exposures with film cameras. Feels very high quality and is small and light.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I needed something for work - i'd been using my Hexad access duffel as a daily carry but that was getting to be too much. The PRVKE lite is solid for what I need on the daily and the Hexad Duffel is wonderful for longer haul work trips. Now I'm living my best bag life! Thanks WANDRD!
