Stop the writing on your Canon RF 10-20mm f/4L IS STM lens from appearing in your underwater images with Ikelite's Anti-Reflection Ring. It blocks the aperture, focal length, and other written information on the front element of the lens from being reflected in the interior of the dome port attached to your camera housing. Without the ring, these unwanted reflections could show up in your photos and videos. A self-adhesive vinyl surface enables easy attachment to your lens.

  • Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is it made in Japan?

A: According to the information in our system, the Canon RF 50mm f/1.8 STM Lens is manufactured in Malaysia.

Q: 2. Any news on when it is approximately expected on b&h? Also the 85mm f2?

A: Unfortunately, we currently do not have a set ETA from the manufacturer on either product.

Q: 3. How do you manually focus this lens?

A: To manually focus when using the Canon RF 50mm f/1.8 STM Lens, you may set the Focus Mode in your camera to Manual Focus, then set the [CONTROL/FOCUS] switch built onto the lens to [FOCUS]. You may then rotate the control ring built onto the lens to adjust your focus. You can also press the [MAGNIFY] button (button of a magnifying glass) on the back of the camera to increase the magnification on the camera's LCD screen to assist your viewing during manual focus. If the camera is set to Autofocus and the [CONTROL/FOCUS] switch is set to [FOCUS], you should also have full-time manual focus override, allowing you to focus manually while the camera is still set to autofocus mode.

Q: 4. Will this work with the M50?

A: This lens will not mount onto the Canon M50 and currently there is no adapter for it to mount onto the Canon M50.

Q: 5. How big is the opening?

A: Unfortunately that is not specified by the manufacturer.

Q: 6. What lens hood will fit this lens?

A: Canon has a specific lens hood for it called the ES-65B (https://bhpho.to/3kblKpV) but you could also use a generic lens hood that screws into the filter threads as well.

Q: 7. Is it focus by wire?

    A: Yes.

Q: 8. Is the lens hood for this lens the same as the one for the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 lens?

A: The Canon 50mm STM RF lenses uses the ES-^%B hood which is not the same hood that the EF mount version uses. Please take a look at the following link: https://bhpho.to/3U4P0Bn

Q: 9. What is the latest firmware for this lens? Just got mine, the firmware version is at 1.0.0, checked Canon website... nothing so far.

A: Firmware v1.0.0 is currently the latest version at this time for the RF 50mm 1.8

Q: 10. I knew focusing on this lens would be noisy but my copy continually hunts focus. Is this normal or should I try another copy?

A: Doing a controlled focus test is the best way to determine what might be causing the lens to hunt for focus.

The nifty fifty is quick, sharp and perfect for my lens collection as an aspiring photographer

Why? Well, I have handed down my R and RP to my daughters and they both like compact formats, but like portraits and artistic shots. So I gave my original away, then gave the replacement to my other daughter and had to buy a third for me. Paired with the 16mm it makes a super travel set for my R5.

I have the EF 50mm f1.2 which I use with my R5/R6 via the RF/EF adapter. But it -- being quite bulky/heave -- is often too much for a simple task. So I went ahead and got this lens; great choice as it is accurate and snappy as are all my other RF lenses.

Sorry for the simple review but it is what it is. For the money this is a great lens. It's light weight, sharp, quiet and the AF is fast. I don't shoot video so I can't provide any info on that.

This lens is lightweight and very sharp. It makes any camera feel super light while shooting! Great addition to the bag.

This lens is what it says it would be. Decent quality, better than you would expect it from a 200 dollar lens!
Has some vignetting wich is to be expected in my opinion ...
Perfect as a cheap lens to habe on your camera when you just want to have it out and ready!
Would buy again
(Nit the most quiet lens you can buy but doesent mean it's loud)

I love to use this for portrait photo shoots. Amazing in low light, and very reliable. The pocket size is awesome as well. Can't wait to get the 16mm as well. Someone make more of those quickly please.

I have both the RF50 lenses... this one (1.8) and the more expensive option (1.2). You can't go wrong with this lens for simple travel and keeping your gear to minimal weights on vacations. The images are just what you would expect from just about any 50mm 1.8 lens that Canon has produced since the 60's. In fact I have an FL 50mm 1.8 lens from 1966 and the image quality between the two is very similar, though the RF version is easily sharper.
