Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can Pro Blade Mac APSF format be reformated to Exfat for windows PCs use and still used with the Pro blade stations?

A: Yes, the SanDisk Professional PRO-BLADE SSD can be reformatted.

Q: 2. It can be used with canon r3 and r5?

A: The Canon R3 and R5 do not support SSD recording over USB, so the SanDisk Professional 8TB Professional PRO-BLADE STATION Kit with PRO-BLADE TRANSPORT SSDs (4 x 2TB) will not work.

Q: 3. Will this work with an iPhone 16 Pro max?

A: The SanDisk Professional 2TB PRO-BLADE SSD Mag can be used as an external drive with an iPhone 16 Pro Max when the drive is inserted in the SanDisk Professional PRO-BLADE TRANSPORT, B&H # SAPBT, and connected to the iPhone via USB-C.

Q: 4. Is this in any way water resistant? Or just a fancy enclosure without many benefits?

A: No, the SanDisk Professional 2TB PRO-BLADE SSD MAG is not water resistant.

Q: 5. I assume that since this mounts each blade as a single drive (rather than as RAID might), this is fully compatible with Apple M1 chips? Is that a correct assumption?

A: Yes, that is correct. Each SanDisk Professional 4TB PRO-BLADE SSD MAG will function as a separate unit. Even if you purchased the multi bay unit, the array will work as JBOD for maximum swapability.

Q: 6. Can it fit my existing NVME's ? To use it with SanDisk pro-blade station?

A: The SanDisk Professional 1TB PRO-BLADE SSD MAG already has a NVMe drive installed and is not made to use with other NVMe drives.

Q: 7. Will there be 0tb ? Just the empty mag?

A: This SanDisk Professional 1TB PRO-BLADE SSD MAG drive contains a 1TB volume preformatted APFS.

Q: 8. If I can format the bade to FAT32, will it work inserted into a SanDisk Project drive formatted APSF?

A: Yes, the SanDisk Professional 2TB PRO-BLADE SSD Mag, (B&H # SAPB2TB), would work inserted into a SanDisk Project Drive even if it's a different format than the SanDisk Professional Project Drive. In that scenario, the Project drive is simply acting as a hub/reader.

Q: 9. Has anyone used the "Sandisk Pro Blade Transport 4TB NVMe SSDs" with Sigma FP Cameras? Any problems?

A: The SanDisk Professional 4TB PRO-BLADE SSD Mag isn't officially supported with the Sigma fp, and the camera doesn't support SSDs larger than 2TB. I recommend using the SanDisk 2TB Extreme PRO Portable SSD V2 (B&H # SAE812TB), as it's an officially tested and supported SSD.

Q: 10. Will I get 40gbps on my M1 Max MacBook using this with the Blade Station? This device stated 20GB/s, but the station claims 40GB/s.

A: This drive can achieve read speeds of up to 3000 MB/s with the Pro-Blade Station.

The SanDisk 1TB Extreme PRO Portable SSD V2 is the perfect size for my photographic backups during my travels both nationally and internationally. Within this past year, I had purchased two SanDisk 1TB Extreme Portable USB 3.1 Type-C External SSD drives and am totally satisfied with their performance.

The SanDisk 1TB Extreme PRO Portable SSD V2 offers more rapid read speeds, up to 2000 MB/s, as opposed to 550 MB/s with my previous purchase.

SanDisk (now owned by Western Digital) made an extraordinary move by creating this product.

I would not hesitate purchasing more of the same (or similar) in the future, especially when B&H offers them at an exceptional price point.

It works great

I bought this as a home for a huge Lightroom catalog for one of my endeavors. It allows me to work at a speed comparable to working off of my M2 Max MacBook Pro's internal SSD, while saving tons of space on that internal disk. I can grab this SSD and connect it to any Mac running Lightroom and pick up where I left off as well.

The product is extremely well-built, intuitive to use, and at a fantastic price for its capabilities and utility.

I bought the 2TB version a year ago and just oogled the 4TB until I finally bought it for myself for the holidays. These are so cool. Super light, super small, and super fast!

Great for editing video off of! Great for editing giant raw photos off of! (I have a 2019 Macbook Pro).

Also great for carrying around on your travels! These have held up to multiple drops and to being chucked in a backpack with a bunch of other things and sometimes sand and dust and whatnot.

I think those are on of the best portable hard drives on the market. Great for traveling and they are extremely durable. Can be used for photography or videography (e.g shooting with a black magic)! I love the design and color (just minimal and simple) and fit basically in any small bag! My favorite hard drive!
