The D-Box from Wooden Camera is an adapter that provides power distribution, remote power on/off, and hot swap battery functions for the RED KOMODO-X cameras. The unit mounts onto the V-mount of your camera and connects to the camera via the included 9-pin EXT cable, and it provides a plate for a separately available V-mount battery. Expanding your selection of powered accessory connectors, this box features D-Tap ports, 12V 2-pin LEMO-type ports, and 24V 3-pin Fischer ports.

There is also a 9-pin EXT input for connection of a DC input for hot-swap and failover functions. It is compatible with an optional B-Box to extend your connections for run/stop, timecode, genlock, and other controls, and it is enabled for run/stop power pass-through.

A: As you see it, the box the UMB-1 comes in weighs 8.2 lbs / 3.7195 kg. I would say that in in full studio configuration, it would be slightly less than that. In Clamp-On configuration, once you remove the rod holder and not use the metal flags, the stripped down matte box would weigh in the neighborhood of 3-4 lbs / 1.3-1.8 kg.

A: The Swing Away configuration includes an attachment that allows the matte box to swing out from it's fixed position. The Base configuration is static and attaches to 15mm rods.

A: While it would theoretically be possible to connect certain monitor arms onto one of the threaded holes (taps) in the Wooden Camera UMB-1 Universal Matte Box (Pro) B&H# WO202100), matte boxes (including this one) are not especially stable nor secure enough for such usage. Moreover, since it attaches to the front of the lens, any instability caused by the weight of the arm and monitor could translate into movement that could impair the stability of the shot. While there may be use cases when it could be done, any camera movement with such a setup could result in a shaky image.

Q: 8. How long is the Lanc cable inside the D-box, and can it make it to the front Lanc port on the camera?
