A: The only difference is the connection. The MVH500AH has a flat base connection for tripods with a 3/8 stud while the MVH500A has a 60mm ball connection. Other than that they are the same video head.

A: the fluid discs are in the fulcrum points in the head as they are in all fluid head tripods, on the pan and the tilt axis

A: Yes. I use a Manfrotto adapter with an Induro tripod having a 75mm bowl. The adapter is made for a Manfrotto bowl but IT WORKS WITH OTHER BRANDS. Just throw away the screws and put the adapter in place. It works great. A: It would depend on your setup. Both heads are great options. The biggest differences between the two are the payloads and counterbalance system. Q: 8. Are there any 60mm half bowl tripod legs? I have only been able to find 75mm that require an adapter. I got this head because it is more portable than the 502HD, just hard to believe there are no half bowl legs that fit, at least not that I can find.

A: I just bought a Viltrox VX-18M which has great legs (and a not-so-great fluid head) and a 60mm half bowl. You can buy the tripod just for the legs and put this Manfrotto head on it.
