Install a wide range of storage drives with support for both 2.5 and 3.5" drives. All drive bays are located behind the motherboard tray, allowing you to install either two 2.5" drives or one 2.5" and one 3.5" drive.

The H5 Flow includes two 120mm F Series Quiet fans that use Fluid-Dynamic Bearings (FDB) to produce up to 78.86 CFM max airflow, keeping your internal components cool.

Install a wide variety of AiO coolers and custom loops in the H5 Flow. The front of the case can easily handle radiators up to 280mm while the top can support up to 240mm radiators. Additionally, the rear can fit a 120mm radiator.

Located on the top of the H5 Flow is a USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 port along with a single USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port, giving you up to 5 and 10 Gb/s data transfer speeds, respectively. Additionally, a 3.5mm combo audio jack gives you instant access for various gaming headsets.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Could I mount a standard ATX motherboard in this case, seeing as it's a E-ATX case?

A: Yes. I bought this case and mounted a standard ATX motherboard.

Q: 2. Is there and an external power cord so I do not have to rely on batteries like the Zoom h4n does?

A: Yes, you can use the Zoom AD-17 https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/851666-REG/zoom_zad0017d_ad_17_replacement_ac_adapter.html

Q: 3. I see that you can record a line-in via the XY module (e.g. for lav mics), but can you record the XY at the same time as that line in? So, could I have a lav mic plugged into the line-in _and_ also record the XY audio to get ambient/location sound separately from the lav?

A: You can definitely combine the XY module with a lav mic, however, the 3.5mm input on the XY module is for a line level signal. Since you want to connect a mic and not a line level signal, I would recommend using an XLR adapter with your lav mic and connecting the mic to one of the XLR-1/4" combo jacks. If your lav mic requires plug-in power, you can use Rode's VXLR Plus 3.5mm TRS Female to XLR Male Adapter with Phantom Power Converter (B&H # ROVXLRP) which will convert phantom power to plug-in power. If the lav mic uses a battery for power or does not require any power, use the Rode VXLR 3.5mm TRS Female to XLR Male Adapter (B&H # ROVXLR) which just converts the connector to XLR. The XLR input offers the best options for recording the XY mics and lav mic simultaneously.

Q: 4. I want to record video unto a DSLR from a RodeLink lav (3.5mm output through a Rode XLR converter), while recording ambient sound at the same time with its built-in microphones. Will the H5 do it, or do I need the H6? Which is the optimal recorder (low-noise, quality preamp) for this purpose?

A: You may plug the lav into the H5 and use that and the built in mics at the same time.

Q: 5. What kind of warranty do you offer?

A: This product has a one year, limited manufacturer's warranty.

Q: 6. Is there an "auto" option for recording input level, instead of having to set it manually?

A: Yes, the Zoom H5 does have options for auto-recording and it can automatically set the input level. This feature can be very useful, but it depends on what you will be recording because you do not want to have the recorder stop if it does not hear any sound, then start recording again when it does. What you can do is use the auto-record function to see how it sets the input level and then you can go back to manual mode and set the input level the same way or adjust it as needed. That way you will not have to worry about the recorder stopping and starting at the wrong times. Use the auto mode to teach you how to set the input levels so you can adjust them manually in order to get the best results for your recording applications.

Q: 7. Does this kit come with all the batteries needed?

A: Yes, it comes with needed batteries. Great device. Excellent sound.

Q: 8. Can I use the stereo mini plug input along with the 2 XLR inputs to record 4 chanels?

A: I haven't used it as stereo input, but i have used it as a mono input for another lavalier and it works great

Q: 9. Can I connect an external and better quality preamp without sound degradation?

A: I don't see why not. The preamps on the H5 are pretty good, but certainly not the best. You could probably turn the gain down on the H5 and the gain up on the output of your external preamp for minimal distortion, and record at 24bit 96khz. If you want stereo or multi-track (you need a adapter for the H5, the H6 has 4 XML-ins), you'd have to have preamp with an out for each track.

Q: 10. I want to record my film dialogue with my boom mic and connect it to this. dose this have this feature where i can record one track at lower DB and the other normal?

A: Dear Nachoketh, I understand what you are trying to do, you want to separate the same track and record 3db difference between the two. You can do this by splitting the input with a Y connector, but the question I have for you is why do this? A good sound recordist doesn't need two tracks of the same thing because he or she gets it right the first time. Only once did a producer ask me to do that and I was insulted because it implied I didn't know how to record sound. The recordist should wear headphones and hear what is being recorded. You adjust the volume accordingly. This unit is a digital recorder, it is great for voice or music but might offer problems with effects. Large sound, like explosions, or gun shots are tough to record in digital mode because to make them sound correct you need to over-record, but with digital you can't. There are tricks you can do in post by slowing the sound down and pushing the volume. That can work. Good luck. Best, Jonathan Slon.
