Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. Can I use this to get an NDI feed from OBS that has my live stream and convert it to HDMI and send it to my TVs locally?
A: Hi, yes this device allows you to select an NDI source on your network and will output via HDMI to a local TV/Display.
Q: 2. Does this decoder need a static IP or will work with dongles with dynamic IP - if yes what latency would be expected?
A: The JVC BR-DE900 ProHD IP Decoder (B&H# JVBRDE900) will use a static IP address. While many factors can affect latency, with respect to the decoder itself, the manufacturer only states that it minimizes the decoding process cycle, adding 1.5 seconds to whatever other factors may be present.
Q: 3. Does the R Remote PC app work if the TIO is enrolled in a Dante Domain (DDM or Director)?
A: Yes. In order to use R Remote with the Yamaha Tio1608-D2 Dante-Equipped I/O Rack, Dante Controller must be installed first.
Q: 4. I'm using this with my Avid Media Composer on my laptop to get a clean reference monitor signal out. The audio is out of sync. Its ahead of the avid playback. Is there something to adjust to fix this?
A: NDI introduces delay therefore we typically don't recommend using NDI in an editing scenario. if your goal is to have the audio and video in sync you will need to output both the Audio and the video via NDI.
Q: 5. When I switch between layer sets in mimolive, the screen receiving the HDMI signal blinks once or twice. Any ideas on why this might happen? Ps: This does not happen when I connect the screen HDMI directly to my MacPro.
A: Some devices do flicker or blink when they are connected via HDMI.
Q: 6. Is this product compatible with the NDI-HX protocol?
A: No this device only supports NDI. it does not support the HX version of NDI
Q: 7. Can I use this to get an NDI signal from my iMac and convert it to an HDMI signal to my BMD switcher to run lyrics on my livestream?
A: As long as the software you are using for your lyrics supports an NDI output signal through your iMac, this device should work to decode it into an HDMI video signal for us with a Blackmagic Switcher.
Q: 8. I have an ATEM Mini Pro on order and have to get 3 x PTZ cams for our church (when they are back in stock!). I like the idea of the PTZ Optics NDI cams but how would I get their o/p into the HDMI inputs of the Atem Mini Pro?
A: this converter could be used to convert the NDI signal from the camera to an HDMI signal that can be fed directly into the ATEM Mini pro switcher
Q: 9. What type of battery setup is required for remote field use?
A: This product uses a standard AC Power supply. You could look at something like the GOAL ZERO Yeti 400 Portable Power Station to operate it in the field, BH #GOGZ23000. https://bhpho.to/2TRzfjl
Q: 10. Does this device output over hdmi 3840x2160 30 fps?
A: Yes, the Magewell Pro Convert NDI to HDMI Decoder does output 3840 x 2160 30 fps over HDMI.
