Scrolling with the ring is why I like this mouse

I have several of the Kensington Expert Mouses. Everytime I use a a regular mouse, it reminds me of how much I love the Expert mouse. you never have to pick up and reposition a traditional mouse when you cant get to the edge of a page. With the Expert Mouse you just keep rolling the track ball until you get to where you want to be.

I hate mice, they are just annoying with the moving and having to pick it up and move again. I had one of these when it 1st came out and LOVED it. but after many years of use it got tired and then I knocked it off the desk by accident and that was that. At the time I was poor and couldn't afford a new one. But then recently B&H here had it on a ridiculously awesome sale of less than 1/2 price so I snatched it up. you do have to kinda break them in as they are a little rough moving for the 1st day or 2 but after everything settles they are SO SMOOTH and accurate, and easy on the hands that I just can't see why anyone would use anything else. Do wish they would make a 2 button version as the 4 is pointless to me and I liked the older layout with he 2 buttons but other than that.. it's a 5 star!

I have nothing but good things to say about this. I favor trackballs for their precision in the first place, but this one takes the prize for best to use, after using quite a number over the years. The central ball makes it great to control, its very sensitive and as precise as I could need or want it to be. It also has a solid feel to it and good hold on the desktop to allow fingertip control without issue. Well worth buying another when this wears out!

I'm used to working on Keningston Trackballs in various recording studios, and I really wanted one in my office as well, so I jumped on B&H's recent flash sale on these. It's a really nice upgrade over the logitech marble trackball I was using previously. The ergonomics are night and day, thanks to the wrist rest and the larger size. It's also nice to have the scroll ring, which was absent on the logitech.

I've been using this model of Kensington trackball for at least 10 years. It is the best, I think.

I was at first dismayed by how stiff the ball movement was, but sure enough, as other reviews have said, after using it only a little (or just rolling the ball around, unconnected, for a few minutes), it loosened up and now feels like my old one. I did have some trouble with the latest driver, but I think that this is because when I first plugged in the new mouse, I was hoping the old driver would still work. It didn't work correctly and then the system got confused. But after starting over, maybe rebooting (I forget), it now works great and is the best thing around for a trackball, IMHO.

Doesn't replace a mouse for Photoshop, but great for daily use

I've been a trackball user for over 15 years. Most of my day is spent doing graphic design, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc. After learning to use a trackball I would never go back to a regular mouse. The efficiency this device provides is unparalleled, programmable buttons make repetitive actions/tasks easy. I actually bought this as a backup as my original Expert Mouse which is going on 7+ years, but still works perfect. Although now with lots of use some of the finish has worn off the buttons, etc. Kensington builds great products, hope they never stop making this mouse. Happy trackball user!

I have used Kensington Turbo mouse and now Expert mouse for maybe 20 or more years. They work great and also come with a 5 year warranty!!!!

I adapted pretty quickly to the Kensington Expert Trackball. Wanted to try one in an attempt to save my myself from a RSI. Still have a ways to go for my ergonomics but its working great so far.
