Bought this as an alternative to a gimble due to cost constraints. Love, love, love it. Great for wildlife shots. Captured some great images first time out, including ducks in flight. Much easier than holding on to a monopod or hand-holding. 5

As the headline says - 'It does the job' perfectly. I am using it for my Sony a77M2 with Tamron 150mm600mm lens. It performs very well and covers all my needs. Fits on the manfrotto 3001BD tripod without problems. For the weight of my gear I can't see spending 2 or 3 times as much for a different gimbal. 5

I purchased this head back in 2008 it, it is the best purchase I have made. I use it for sports, (rodeo, baseball, football, hockey, motocross, drag racing, stock car racing) and wildlife all of the time. I have plates permanently attached to my my Nikkor 80-200 2.8, Nikkor 300 2.8 and Sigma 150-500. Although because of the torque with the 300 I had a gunsmith drill a divot into the foot of the 300 tripod mount so that it locks in place. I also use it for outdoor portraits and weddings rather than pack a tripod. 5

This is used to support my very heavy Nikkor 800mm lens on a heavy tripod. It is very stable and can be set in various positions. For wildlife photography it makes for easy and accurate tracking of subjects. I haven't been able to find any negative factors. 5

Have not had a chance to test it in the field yet but the camera and my 300 2.8 have a solid balance. Looking to buy a new tripod very soon with out a center column. 5

I bought this support to use on a monopod on a recent bird shoot and I am very pleased with its performance. �I've never used a gimbal head so I can't compare it to one of those but this device allowed me to make razor sharp images the majority of the time - even of birds in flight. �It appears to be of substantial construction and I expect it will last for many years. 5
