Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I just connect p900 to my desktop via USB cable?

A: Yes, you can connect with USB.

Q: 2. Will this print dense enough on clear film for shooting silk screens? What is the droplet weight for just black prints on film? Thank you, Tom.

A: This would be heavily dependent on the level of adhesion of the top layers of the clear film. As for the droplet weight it would be 4 picoliters; Variable Droplet Technology can produce up to three different sizes per line.

Q: 3. Will this print on papers other than glossy?

A: Yes, this printer will print on a variety of different papers other than glossy. Here is a short list from Epson https://epson.com/listing?q=%3Arelevance%3AproductPaperRefrenceType%3AC11CH37201%3AproductType%3APAPER%3ApaperSize%3ASZ_13IN_x_19IN%3ApaperSize%3ASZ_8_5IN_x_11IN%3ApaperSize%3ASZ_4IN_x_6IN%3ApaperSize%3ASZ_11IN_x_17IN%3ApaperFinish%3ASEMIGLOSS%3ApaperFinish%3APRESENTATION_PAPERS%3ApaperFinish%3AMATTE%3ApaperFinish%3AGLOSS%3ApaperSize%3ASZ_5IN_x_7IN&text=#scrollTgt_onRefresh but there are other manufacturers as well. We carry Epson and other manufacturers. Feel free to call or email for suggestions.

Q: 4. Is it possible to feed a 30" long sheet of photo paper cut from a roll rather than use the roll adapter?

A: Yes, one can print a 30" cut sheet with the Epson SureColor P900 17" Photo Printer by using custom paper sizes. One can pretty much print up to the largest file size one would have.

Q: 5. does it include new inks ?

A: Yes, the Epson SureColor P900 17" Photo Printer comes with starter ink cartridges.

Q: 6. Even though it has dedicated matte and glossy black, does it cycle through ink when switching papers, like past printers would do (essentially wasting ink)?

A: The P900 doesn't cycle through ink when switching.

Q: 7. What is the difference between the P600 & the P700 ?

A: Separate channels for the Photo Black & Matte Black so the is no waste in ink & time while switching. Also they added a Violet ink that gives you a wider color gamut.

Q: 8. Can I print longer than 22 inches with a roll adaptor and if so what's the maximum length?

A: Maximum Printable Area: 17" x 129"

Q: 9. Does the P700 support USB 3.0 cords?

A: This printer does not support USB 3.0 cords. It has a USB Type-B port for USB 2.0. This printer supports a cable like this one: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/689977-REG/Pearstone_USB_AB6_USB_2_0_Type_A.html

Q: 10. I see that people are reporting almost no ink in the supplied cartridges. Is this standard or a mix up with epson? If normal, thank you all for the heads-up. I won't be upgrading my P800.

A: Not all so. they come with 'Initial/Starter Inks' and the first time you install inks to a new printer it needs to initially prime the ink lines/tubes & the print-head which uses a nice chunk of ink. You should still be able to print pictures after the initial cycle. The regular ink tanks are 25ml which should give you plenty of high quality prints. It's always good to stock an additional set as with all other photo printers so you don't get stuck in middle of a job with a deadline.
