  • Unlike hard plastic mounts, The Windbubble PRO's soft rubber mount absorbs shocks and stops vibrations transferring to your mic's capsule.
  • In addition, the rubber mount has a slight, conical shape inside, which prevents you to push your microphone too far into the windshield. This is very important to ensure that your microphone has a "bubble" of dead-air around the capsule for optimal wind protection and audio clarity.
  • This means that your mic will consistently stay in the best possible position inside the windshield, making it possible to engineer a smaller, overall profile for the Windbubble PRO without compromising on the efficacy of the wind protection.

  • The rubber mount holds the furry windshield firmly in place on your mic, making sure it doesn't slip off mid-shoot.

  • The Windbubble PRO utilizes the company's multi-pile faux fur specially designed with varying lengths of fur to help gradually slow down the wind before reaching the mic.
  • The base of the fur has a higher density of shorter hairs and an acoustically transparent backing material for maximum frequency transparency.
  • The mic's capsule is kept in a calm bubble of wind protection and allowed to perform at its best.
  • The Bubblebee fur is less shiny than others to better blend with skin, clothes, and other surrounding materials.

Q: 1. Are the gain changes made in the receiver or in the transmitter? If I set the gain lower, will it reduce the gain on the receiver's internal recording, too? Also, is the second channel internal safety track done as an analog reduction in the transmitter, or as a digital reduction in the receiver?

A: There is a gain control on the receiver which provides a three-stage pad to cut your output level in 12 dB increments. A single click of the gain control button allows you to select between high (0 dB), medium (-12 dB), and low (-24 dB) gain settings. The level icon in the middle of the screen indicates which gain setting is selected. An additional fine gain control mode can also be enabled in the Rode Central app which will expand the three-stage pad to a 10-stage pad, going from 0 dB to -30 dB in 3 dB increments. This allows you to precisely tailor the output level going to your recording device. It also provides access to an extra 6 dB of gain reduction, which is handy if you are using a recording device with high sensitivity. Be aware that the gain control only affects the 3.5mm output of the Wireless GO II, not the digital USB-C output. If you are using the Wireless GO II with a smartphone or computer and need to adjust the gain, you can do so in the app or recording software that you are using. The safety channel can only be activated in 'Merged' recording mode which combines the output of the two transmitter channels into a single summed output. When using the safety channel, you will have two channels of identical audio with the volume level on the safety channel reduced by 20 dB, preventing overload that could create distortion.

Q: 2. How good/bad is the Wireless Go II if I use it like a shotgun mic both receiver and one transmitter on the same camera for typical outdoor YouTube videos?

A: The Rode Wireless GO transmitter is not going to work like a shotgun microphone. The transmitter's built-in mic is omnidirectional and shotgun microphones are typically very directional and designed to pickup sound from a distance while reducing the background noise. The transmitter's built-in mic is intended to be used while it is attached to a person for picking up their voice from close up. If you need a microphone to pickup sound while mounted on the camera, then you should use a shotgun microphone for the best results.

Q: 3. Are they 2 recorded files (file #1 for mic #1 and file #2 for mic #2) or it is a one merged file (stereo for mic#1 and mic#2). Since there is only one output on the received, I would assume there will be only one channel. I am not sure if an XLR split could resolve that?

A: The Wireless GO II offers stereo or dual-mono output modes which allows the audio from each transmitter to be routed and recorded to a separate channel so you will hear one mic on the left and one mic on the right, or the audio from both transmitters can be mixed together and recorded identically to hear both mics combined on the left and right channels. Audio can also be recorded directly onto each of the transmitters and you would be able to download the separate recorded files from each transmitter onto your computer.

Q: 4. Can I use any USB C to USB C cable for recording with an Android phone? Or do I need the cable Rode makes?

A: Any USB cable that will carry data will work.

Q: 5. How do u connect to iphone wirelessly?

A: u need two items to connect to a phone depending on what type phone you have your going to need lighting if iphone or type c if android or apple ipad links below https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1048151-REG/rode_sc4_trs_to_trrs_adaptor.html?sts=pi&pim=Y https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1442282-REG/apple_mu7e2am_a_usb_c_to_3_5_mm.html?sts=pi&pim=Y https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1280795-REG/apple_mmx62am_a_lightning_to_3_5mm_headphone.html?sts=pi&pim=Y

Q: 6. Can you confirm if the Rode Central app has been proven to work with the new M1 Macs? Many audio interface apps are struggling with the new M1 chips Mac is using so I hope that has been addressed with this app.

A: Yes it will, It was specifically designed to be M1 compatible.

Q: 7. Can these be use a single person video shot

A: Yes you can use just 1 transmitter with the receiver in the Rode Go II to capture 1 person talking.

Q: 8. Can you use Rode Wireless Go II if you don't have an external mic? My camera doesn't have an external mic.

A: The only only way to connect a external microphone system such as the Rode wireless Go II is for the camera to have a microphone input, if the camera does not have a external microphone input the audio would have to be recorder separately into a audio recorder at that point the video and audio would have to be sync in post production.

Q: 9. Can I use this in a theatre setting for live sound?

A: Yes. Suggest using with the optional Lav mic.

Q: 10. Will this mic work with a DJI OSMO ACTION (not an Action 2) ?

A: Yes, the Rode Wireless GO II 2-Person Compact Digital Wireless Microphone System's receiver can send signal into the DJI Osmo Action 4K Camera's USB Type-C connection when the DJI CYNOVA Osmo Action Dual 3.5mm/USB-C Adapter (BH #DJOAD35) is also implemented for 3.5mm connection: https://bhpho.to/3Ea0Xym
