I love it! It came in a small box and as soon as you open it, it tells you how to pull it out or remove it from the box to avoid damage. At first look you can see its quite small, which In my opnion its great as it doesnt take much space in your office. Setting it up was rather simple and quick. The instructions are very clear. All the programs are downloaded directly from website to your computer, no disc needed. The installation was quite fast and was able to scan my first document with no problems at all. You have the choice to adjust it to the size in width of your document to avoid it from moving and causing a paper jam. All in all, I think its a great scanner. Simple and very user friendly.

Works great, easy to use. Most important aspect - it works well with a MAC. Allows you to delete 2nd page before saving as a pdf (like in the case of checks). I would highly recommend.

First I was so excited to receive my scanner! The Epson ES-865 was boxed securely and I was impressed with the packaging. It came safe in the box and was super easy to unbox and begin setting up. The scanner took me less than 10 minutes to have ready in my office to being using. I like that the scanner does fast scans and the automatic document feed tray can handle large documents very easily. The buttons on the front of the scanner operate easily for operation. I like that the scanner is relatively quiet too since I do a lot of scanning I have it right on my desktop work station.

The scanner connects easily with a USB cable and I have been impressed with the resolution of the documents. I scan in a lot of contracts, so resolution is extremely important to me for clarity and professional documents. I have yet to experience any jams and overall would recommend this product for your business needs!

We have been using this new Epson scanner for over a week, and love it. Superb quality, and quite, fast, very good prints.

This was my first experience with a scanner, and it was a positive one! It performs very well, with excellent results, and it is lightning fast. The ES-865 is used with a computer via of USB 3.0 connection, it is not a wifi scanner. I also want to mention that it works seamlessly with Windows 10. The initial set up was quick, you simply download from Epson's support site, connect your USB and the system does the rest of the work. Installing the software and the drivers is a breeze with the help of their installation wizard that steers you through the process. If there are any software updates you will receive a pop-up message, just click on the message and the update will install.My first test was to run a large stack of pages through it, some pages were creased, some were one-sided and others were doubled sided, one page was even torn at the bottom. That didn't stop the ES-865, it experienced no feed issues or jams, and the quality of my documents was excellent. Saving your documents according to your preferences is also simple. It has a default setting of 200 DPI, while it is fast, the quality isn't great. I changed my default to 300 DPI, and set it at 600 DPI for higher quality. I also really liked all the fine tuning adjustments that I had to choose from to get rid of punch holes, skipping blank pages, etc. It's great that it is so compact, my office isn't very big and I don't have a lot of room on my desk. It doesn't take up much workspace on my desk, and when I am not using it for a period of time it fits nicely and neatly under my desk. I am very impressed with this scanner, and I would highly recommend it for not only professional use but personal use as well. While the brown box it comes in may be a bit unassuming, this high-speed scanner is no joke! I remember when they finally added auto document feeders to flatbed scanners and I thought that was a great time saver. Well, my expectations have just been reset. This scanner screams through documents. I put a stack of 25 pages in the feeder, some had previously been stapled, some had been folded in half and some had printing on both sides, the ES-865 flew through the entire stack in less than 30 seconds with no feed issues and very good image quality on both front and back of the page. It really does bring a smile to your face knowing you can get scan huge piles of documents in just minutes.

The default image quality (200dpi) on high speed is certainly good enough for any document archiving, but you can choose a lower speed with higher quality should you need it all the way up to 1200dpi. The Epson ScanSmart software is fast and easy to use, it lets you control most of the settings for the scanner and helps get your work done quickly. The only thing I would change would be to make the screen on the scanner a bit larger as it makes it a bit difficult to go through the on-screen settings, but as most of this can be controlled by the software anyway it is not a big issue at all.

Overall, this is a fantastic document scanner (receipts and photos too!) and I am truly impressed with the quality and speed it delivers and would recommend this to anyone that needs to do significant amounts of document scanning or archiving. This high quality scanner is very user friendly and was ready to go in fifteen minutes right out of the box after downloading and installing the necessary online driver software. The product arrived tight and securely packed, which included easy to follow directions, the power cord and usb cable to connect to a laptop or desktop computer using a usb port.

I have been using this product for close to a week and I am highly impressed by the durable design, portability, and especially the speed and accuracy that the Epson Workforce ES-865 Color Duplex Document Scanner is able to scan duplex front and back documents without having any jamming issues and the tray can hold up to 100 standard sized sheets of paper! I especially like that there is many options on how to store and save completed scans such as using Dropbox, Google Drive, Word, Excel, attaching to emails, print, or even sending to One Drive. I noticed that the scanner did not have any Wi-Fi capabilities, but for the purposes for which I use this scanner, I think it would have possibly slowed the scanner speed. I really like this scanner because it quickly scan documents and receipts. This scanner doesn't take up much space, It is perfect for home office use and small business. It is well constructed and performs very well. This scanner must be use with the computer via USB 3.0 connection. This is the most fastest scanner I ever had. The LCD screen is very nice and the buttons are easy to use.

I was quite surprised when I opened the box and found this very small form factor Epson ES-865 scanner and rightfully so since having a scanner that doesn't take up a ton of desk space is really awesome. Once opened it came with everything needed to get started quickly. In the box were the scanner, power block, printer cable, and quick start guide. It took me about five minutes to set up and start the software install. Once the software was installed I tested the scanner and it's so quick that if you are not looking you will miss the quickness in which is scans. Once I scanned I checked out the quality of the scans and I will say it is superb in capturing the document in the true form right out the box at 200 DPI. You can of course change your DPI and other settings in the app to get better quality of scans to your liking but I was happy with the standard settings.

The application itself is good but the issue is that there are two different scanning apps under the Epson folder for this device, Scan Smart for when you hit the scan button on the scanner, and Scan 2 from the OS for scanning. I find that Scan 2 gives you more option before scanning to choose what your scanning. Other than that they are easy to use and not to complicated.

Would I recommend this scanner to people? Yes, I would since this is the fastest, and smallest scanner I have used in a long time for home use, and the ease of use and quality makes it a great option for people who scan a lot or for a home-based business. I have seen smaller scanners with clients in the IT field but are usually not this fast or the image quality is ok at best. Epson ES-856 we have been using over a week now. Its small but super efficient, very quite, and the scans are excellent. Superb quality. We have been using it for school work, and its incredible. Over all its the best color scanner we have ever had. Highly recommended !!
