  • The QT-AD10AL Digital AquaMic is the waterproof version of the QT-AD10 family of transmitters and is fully submersible, making it ideal for any wet, dusty, or dirty application where a totally sealed transmitter is required. After use, the transmitter can be safely cleaned and sanitized before the next project.
  • Used in reality TV, surfing competitions, professional kiteboarding, and America’s Cup Yachting, the Q5X AquaMic has proven itself in extreme, wet environments. The AquaMic has also been buried in the dirt for Major League Baseball broadcasts. The RCAS (Remote Control Audio System) eliminates the need for any physical control elements on the transmitter, so there is no point of entry for moisture to access the electronics.

  • The QT-AD10AL AquaMic utilizes RCAS (Remote Control Audio System), a revolutionary way to remotely control transmitter settings from a central computer or handheld remote control.
  • The remote functions allow technicians to control on/off, monitor status, and battery level and make on-the-fly adjustments of frequency, mic offset, mic mute, RF power level, and grouping—all wirelessly.

The AquaMic transmitter features Q5X's proprietary watertight 6-pin LEMO connector, and compatible microphones are available directly from Q5X. Alternatively, you can send your microphone to Q5X and have it retrofitted with a 6-pin LEMO connector.

While the AquaMic is compatible with a wide range of lavalier microphones, a mic with an IP57 rating for dust and water resistance is highly recommended, including the following models:

  • Shure DuraPlex Series
  • DPA 6060 or DPA 6061
  • VT500WA or VT500X
  • Point Source CO-08 or GO-9W

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this unit compatible with the new URX-P41D wireless receiver?

A: Yes the Sony UTX-P40 is compatible with the URX-P41D receiver in the same frequency band.

Q: 2. Hi, I would like to wirelessly place a boom with With 48V Phantom Power to a 100 G3. The 100 G3 does not support 48V Phantom Power. There would be no problem receiving the signal with the boom from the SKP 500 G4 Pro to the 100 G3. in the camera?

A: Although hard to confirm without actually testing, it can be theorized that the Sennheiser SKP 500 G4 Pro Wireless Plug-On Transmitter AW+: (470 to 558 MHz) will properly send signal to a Sennheiser EK 100 G3 Receiver, assuming both units are set to the same frequency.

Q: 3. Does this have phantom power?

A: No this receiver can not provide phantom power, it was designed to be used with dynamic microphones that don't require phantom power or with microphones that can be battery powered.

Q: 4. is this compatable with URX-P40?

A: Yes, the Sony UTX-P40 Wireless Plug-On Transmitter is compatible for use with a Sony URX-P40 Camera-Mount Wireless Receiver, as long as both components operate on the same frequency band.

Q: 5. Would this be compatible with URX-P2 or URX-P03 receivers with overlapping frequency ranges?

A: Yes, the UTX-P40 is backward-compatible with Sony WL-800 and UWP Series systems so it will work as long as both components are operating on the same frequency band.

Q: 6. The frequency of Sony microphones is 548 - 607 MHZ. Can I use this system?

A: Although on a similar set of frequencies, the Godox TX3-XLR Plug-On Wireless Transmitter would not be compatible with Sony wireless microphone system components. Unless specified compatible, most wireless products use their own proprietary communication protocols and are not cross-compatible with other brands making similar products on similar frequency ranges. The Godox TX3-XLR Plug-On Wireless Transmitter is specified for use with the Godox WMicS1 Wireless Systems.

Q: 7. What is the expected battery life when using Phantom Power?

A: When using the Sony UTX-P40 Wireless Plug-On Transmitter with two standard AA size alkaline batteries and output power is set for 30 or 40mW and phantom power is on, the estimated battery life is approximately 6 hours. With phantom power turned off, the estimated battery life is approximately 8 hours when set for 30mW of output power and approximately 7 hours when output power is set for 40mW.

Q: 8. Will this work with the EW 100 G3 receiver?

A: The G4 series is backwards compatible with the G3 series, so you can program this transmitter to work with your EW 100 G3 receiver. The 500 G4 series divides the available UHF range for wireless microphones into two large 88 MHz blocks. Just be sure to get the appropriate range that includes the frequencies for your G3 receiver.

Q: 9. Will this work with a Sony receiver in the 566 MHz range?

A: The Saramonic TX-XLR9 Wireless Plug-On Transmitter (514 to 596 MHz) is not compatible with Sony Receivers. Sony receivers are only compatible with Sony transmitters.

Q: 10. So with a battery powered Sennheiser MKE 600, I should be fine?

A: This plug-on transmitter can be used with the Sennheiser MKE 600 shotgun mic, when an AA battery is used to power the microphone.
