A: The NexImage 5 camera does not have a lens and is not designed to record images through an eyepiece. It is designed to fit into your telescope's 1.25 focuser drawtube (or 2 to 1.25 adapter) in place of an eyepiece, using the optics of your telescope as a lens. In principal, you can use this camera with a Barlow for added magnification, but the 2.2 micron pixel size of the Neximage 5 combined with the 840mm focal length of the Skywatcher 120 ED already means that to 0.54 arc-seconds of sky will be spread over each pixel. A 120mm aperture only gives an angular resolution of (at best) 1.16 arc-seconds due to diffraction. In this situation any extra magnification provided by a Barlow can do little to improve the resolution of the image and will work against you by reducing the signal to noise ratio.

I appreciate that this battery pack came with two ways to use it. To put in AA batteries or to use the rechargeable batteries. Love the thought process in the details as well. Having a shutter button on the battery pack makes up for adding bulk to the camera. Yes this is my first battery pack I have gotten. 5

I have Nikon euipment that goes back to the mid-60s and I am impressed by the quality of the products I have used. The MB-D18 is my latest piece of gear and I have no doubt it will last longer than I do. I use my cameras in vertical mode a lot and this power battery pack with shutter release and control dial works great for me. Expensive ? Yes but its worth it if you need it. 5

Recently I've shot a lot of fast moving action shots. I found that I could only get the shots I needed when shooting at 9 fps. So this battery grip, along with the Nikon battery en-el18c, has become a necessity for me. But in addition to the increase in shooting speed, the weight of the grip helps me balance the camera with a telephoto lens attached. Plus the battery in the grip, along with the battery in my D850, allowed me to shoot all day without having to change batteries. Finally, the grip's shutter button allows me to shoot in portrait mode easily. Yes, the grip and the extra battery are expensive, but I won't risk using other manufacturer's accessories with my Nikon. I know that original Nikon equipment will always be compatible and that I don't risk an expensive voltage surge. And, as always, B&H ordering is so easy and the package arrived before the expected arrival date. Thank you B&H! 5

Nikon MB-D18 Grip earned it's keep on 1st day shooting with it. The Battery pack lasted full 6+ hours of shooting Eagles in Iowa. The D850 Body was better balanced w/Grip attached to 500mm f/4 & balance on tripod was perfect. The 2 frames per second improvement was very noticeable, along with better shutter response due to the higher voltage/amps in EN-EL 18 c Battery provides. Akiva at B&H was on point with all his spec info & Guidance. 5

I wish Nikon would lower the pricing and make the Multi-power Pack fit more than a single camera.Only way not to void warranty on camera is to buy only Nikon accessories. I do like the increased frames per second that the Nikon Multi-power battery pack gives. Works as described here on B&H and I can trust them with every purchase. 5

Yes, it's way more expensive than the aftermarket manufacturers and there's partly a good reason. Nikon makes larger profits off their accessories than the camera bodies. Always has. When it comes to a device you mount to that body you paid a great deal of money for and has data interaction with it you do want the best build and most reliable gear you can get. With a D850 you want this battery pack. Hands down built way better with an engineering understanding of the interactions involved, in both electronics and mechanical-structural, than any clone out there. 5
