I first purchased one of these bars about a year ago after using a bunch of cheap equipment for a really long time and finding it lacking. I need a long support, most of my backdrops are at least 10-feet in width, and usually 10-feet or more in length. These bars are a lifesaver, both in the studio and on the road. It is so much easier using them and they actually do a really great job supporting the backdrop without warping in the middle. There is a small dip, but nothing extreme, and I have been known to leave these fully extended with a backdrop for weeks on end. I liked the first one so much that I purchased a second just recently. In my photos you can see a sample of the two bars holding backdrops. The way the ends are designed allow for many types of mounting. They also allow for sliding through smaller backdrop support holes. You can fit these things on hooks, bars, rope, and more, not just a typical stand. Truly a heavy duty piece of equipment. 5

The adjustable background crossbar is perfect. Instead of having to try and secure C-stand arms, you just use this bar and it fits on the top of the C stands. It's light, easily adjustable, yet it's very solid. Excellent piece of kit. 5

This item was exactly what I thought and hoped it would be. I needed a sturdy crossbar to be able to hold seamless backdrops up to 9'. I came across this crossbar from Impact and it seemed to be up for the job at a great price. When it arrived it was exactly what I've come to expect from Impact, good engineering and a great price. I have two of these cross bars and they are a fantastic addition to the studio. I mount them on the Impact Wall Plate with 90-Degree Baby Pins and together they make a very flexible backdrops solution. 5

I started with a pathetic 9' extendable Impact Heavy-Duty Adjustable Background Crossbar (Black) and here I am now, the proud wielder of a 13' behemoth. For the storage and transport size, you might as well have always had this larger version. I suppose that's why it's the best selling one. The ability to scooch the backdrop left and right was a nice feature, and in one case, move the C stand further away to give it more clearance with an object in the room. With a 36'x9' roll of savage seamless paper on it while extended to about 12' - there was some sagging occurring, however it IS aluminum, so I would anticipate there being some level of movement too it. The holes on the end for 5/8 pins are pretty precise, and when mounting it while extended, I found they didn't readily slip down onto the C-stands, likely due to the bending mentioned earlier. 5
