Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Would this work for replacing the stock RDE VideoMic Pro shock mount?

A: This shock mount is designed for a true shotgun mic and would not fit the RODE VideoMic Pro model.

Q: 2. Will the Sennheiser MKE 600 work with this Blimp?

A: This blimp system is made specifically for stereo microphones, so would not be appropriate for a mono shotgun mic.. I would consider the Rode Blimp Windshield and Rycote Shock Mount Suspension System for Shotgun Microphones, BH #ROBLIMPR or the Rycote Windshield Kit for Sennheiser MKH416 & Other Select Shotgun Microphones, BH# RYWMKH416, which would both accommodate the Sennheiser ME66, with the K6 powering module.

Q: 3. Would this grip and suspension work with the Rycote 21mm BBG as an alternative to the kit included blimp and softie? Would like to use this for it's handling noise features with an AT BP4025 and have the BBG as a smaller footprint option to the blimp.

A: The grip and suspension found within Rycote Modular Windshield Kit WS 3 with XLR-5F and Connbox CB4 would not work with the Rycote BBG Windshield, as the BBG does not accommodate internal suspensions and is designed for covering the head of the microphone only, as opposed to encapsulating the entire microphone.

Q: 4. Will this work to replace my original ride videomic's (not the pro) stock elastic suspension system? Cause replacing those elastics is a pain. Or do I need to find a Rode Lyre?

A: Rde provide a Lyre Upgrade for the original VideoMic. A search for 'rode videomic lyre upgrade' should get what you are looking for.

Q: 5. Can I Attach this directly to a tripod that has a 1/4"-20 male thread?

A: You would need BH #IMCA109 to be able to do that.

Q: 6. What is the difference between this and the HD version (B&H # RYPRSM)?

A: Couple of differences between the standard & HD versions. Firstly the Lyre on the HD are slightly stiffer, and therefore can support recorders of a heavier weight (over 300g or 0.66lbs). Also the adjustment on the tilt of the HD uses a knob, rather than just a screw on the standard - which gives a tad more grip needed for heavier recorders. Hope that helps.

Q: 7. Will this work with Zoom H4N?

A: Yes the Rycote 041130 Portable Recorder Suspension HD will attach to Zoom H4

Q: 8. Can I put a Rde blimp on this suspension?

A: Hi Steve. This is a Rycote product, and cannot therefore be used with a Rde Blimp basket. The technology behind the Lyres originates with Rycote; however, we have licensed Rde to manufacture their own version, and so the Lyre that comes with and fits the VideoMic and similar/other products is designed and manufactured entirely by them. Rycote's official Lyres and suspensions are not incorporated: any versions you see on Rde products are made by them using their own materials and production methods under license, and fit using a different mechanism. Hope that helps!

Q: 9. Will this mount with a Audio-Technica 8022 with a Rode dead cat wind screen ofer the mic?

A: Yes, the Rycote Invision Hot Shoe mount is compatible for use with the AT8022 microphone and deadcat windscreen.

Q: 10. There has to be a way to attach this to a cold shoe, does anyone know how?

A: Use this adapter: WindTech CM-38 Photo Hot Shoe to 3/8"-16 Male Adapter B&H # WICM38
