This camera is powerful and cinematic. My advice is to surround it with great gear to maximize the potential. I use a Juicebox for external power, a Samsung t5 SSD for external memory, a cage to mount accessories, and a Commlite M43 to EF adapter so I can use cannon lenses. Plus, anything to stabilize the image like a shoulder mount for handheld look or some form of steadicam.

This camera is wonderful...gives you the choices you want in the large back LCD. You can set up your shot in seconds!

This is a great camera for a small, independent low budget independent filmmaker such as me.  This is a great camera to learn how to shoot a cinema camera. The people coming from a video camera background may not like it as it lacks all the consumer creature comforts. But cinema cameras dont have such features. Expect large files, to shoot manual exposure, focus, no image stabilization, and post production color grading is needed .. then you will get amazing looking images. The new BRaw codec is great. I will still stick to my video camera for the family events, and will use this for the higher quality gigs where I want to finess every element of the shot. You will need to invest in an external power system, external SSD or expensive Cfast cards, and a cage and a few pieces of hardware to make this a useable unit. But such is the nature of cinema cameras. The build is decent. The buttons feel could be a little bit more robust.. but they work. I am actually pleased that the body is very light weight, because adding a cage and hardware to it then gives the whole kit just the right mass and stability.

I used this camera for shooting a feature movie ! And my production crew is happy with all the options, that this camera provides ! I recommend this camera to all filmmakers ! Tank.

The camera offers so much growth potential to my craft as a hobbyist I might never use its potential but in my first production the images stunned me.  
Be aware you arent just going to buy this body, you will need/want to build a kit around this and make sure you have a piece of glass on it to allow the sensor to do its thing. 
Size/weight make it perfect for running on a gimbal or on a small motorized slider.  
Stop waiting, get it and enjoy it.

This is such a wonderful camera. It has changed my world. I started in the DSLR movement and have been working with the line of Canon 5Ds since the Mrk 2. After I bought a couple of adapters, this camera works with everything I already had. The quality that Im getting out of the camera has blown my mind along with my clients. It has also allowed me to have a much faster workflow. All around great product and Blackmagic just keeps on updating and improving it. Youve got to check out BRAW!

I dont think theres much I can tell you about this camera that you couldnt learn from the million reviews that have been done about it.

First let me say, besides my Alexa, I am deeply invested in the Blackmagic ecosystem.  I believe that this company is always pushing for better tech at lower prices.  I own four Ursa mini pros, And now I have purchased two of these cameras.  I love them both!

Pros: Amazing image quality, Blackmagic Raw, great low light , intuitive interface, bevy of different recording options in both format and cards.

Cons: As many have said, You are going to need both power and monitoring solutions this thing chews their batteries and doesnt have a tiltable or rotatable screen.  You will also need to purchase a speed booster to adapt to EF.  This is not a deal breaker.


Other than that, I LOVE THIS CAMERA!  Just buy it!

The Camera felt lighter than expected but what a Camera. Handles lowlight better than its predecessor and the widescreen touchscreen makes framing a breeze. Although its an MFT mount, All the Cinema tools are present like false color, focus peaking, zebras and even LUT overlays for monitoring just like in the Ursa Mini. I dont know if theres a better Camera package in the same price range that delivers beautiful prores 4:2:2, 60 frames per second. I know the wait for availability can be tedious(I waited for months to get it), but its worth the wait. Im going to order and wait for another one.
