Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is there a notch in the ball head of the Feisol TT-15B that would allow to quickly change between portrait and landscape orienration? Also is the ball head compatible with the Peak Design plate?

A: Sorry, the TT-15B does not have a notch. If this is an important feature for you, I recommend that you use the TT-15 with the CB-30D ball head which does have a notch and which the ball head of the TT-15B is based on.We do not have any personal experience with the Peak Design plate and have not received any customer feedback about it - generally speaking, most Arca-Swiss type plates are compatible.

Q: 2. What is the width of the ball head?

A: The Oben BD-02 Mini Ball Head has a width of 28mm at its bottom base and 36mm at its mounting base.

Q: 3. can i get the ball out from the mount?

A: Yes, this is possible with the right tools.

Q: 4. I have a Nikon D750 along with the following lenses - Nikon 24-120mm F4, Nikon 70-300mm F4.5/5.6, Nikon 85mm F1.8G, Nikon 50mm 1.8G, and a Nikon 20mm F1.8. The prime lenses should be ok. Any problem using this tripod with the two zoom lenses?

A: You should be fine except the 70-300 may be a little iffy. Make sure you are on a hard surface, use the delayer shutter release or remote, and use live view to prevent mirror shake. This tripod is great for places that do allow regular tripods, like the new World Trade Center.

Q: 5. What material is this made with?

A: The ball is metal and the top disc and locking knob are plastic.

Q: 6. Can I mount a 16 stud to this using a 1/4 -20 -16 female thread adapter to the top of this ball head ?

A: Yes.

Q: 7. How do I remove the bushing? I've tried to take it off and I'm not getting any luck.

A: Use a quarter or a slotted screwdriver with some force.

Q: 8. What is difference between TT-15B vs. TT-15 Mark II with CB-30D ball head. They look similar to me in terms of load capacity, but TT-15B seems quite cheaper?

A: The TT-15B has an integrated, non-removable ball head which is a simplified version of the CB-30D - it has no Panning Base or Friction Adjustment. The TT-15 M2 comes without a ball head - the CB-30D is an excellent companion ball head for it, but the TT-15 M2 can also be used without a ball head altogether.

Q: 9. How is this different than the Oben BD-0 Mini Ball Head?

A: Better built and a wider camera base.

Q: 10. Is the 3/8 insert removable to adapt to a standard light stand head? Looks like it, just wanna make sure

A: Here's what I see on mine. With the insert in, it takes a 1/4 -20 thread, and with the insert out it takes a 3/8 -16 thread. That's as far as it goes. If standard light stand head is 5/8 then you would need some kind of an adapter down to 3/8 .

While I am not mounting anything very heavy on this ball head (which you shouldn't because it is a mini ball head) it holds my equipment firmly even at a 90 degree angle. I really like the fact that it comes with the mounting screw adapter because I headed this ball head to mount on a stand that uses the smaller sized screw.

These tiny ball heads work perfectly for positioning small video lights like the Aputure MC RGBWW or similar. Probably would work for lighter cameras as well, they seem fairly solid when locked down.

Threaded onto my cage, I use it to mount my Ninja V, and it works like a champ! Easy to adjust, and my screen does not move when everything is secure, even with a massive battery pack.

Was looking for small ball heads to support Godox TT600 flashes for off-camera use. These were perfect with the right combination of size and holding power.

Great build, plastic and metal but sturdy and serves the purpose! I needed this to have a strong hold for stand accessories and it does, very happy.
