It's not exactly easy to use after using Photoshop, but it has the same capabilities once one has learned by tutorials.

Affinity is perfect for me. I'm a semi-pro photographer who enjoys editing and taking photos of friends and family and I do it for fun. Got sick of having to pay Adobe for software that I may or may not use and having Affinity installed allows me the opportunity to enjoy photography without the financial strain of a monthly obligation. I have to watch a number of YouTube tutorials to learn the tools ... after being a Photoshop user for decades!
But I really like it, anyway.

When I first started using this I was ready to tear my hair out. The program is highly user configurable. It is so configurable that when I first started tools would just disappear or become disabled, because I had inadvertently set Caps Lock to on or did some other thing. You can customize things the way it suits you, but sometimes I didn’t know what I did. This caused a problem, because some tutorials on YouTube are done by those with customized tool bars that don’t look like what you have. When instructions are done in a staccato fashion it’s easy to get lost. Persevere, and use the tutorials provided by Affinity. And practice! That worked for me, and I have just scratched the surface. There is a lot to learn, and there is also some different terminology such as “Personas”, but it eventually becomes clear as to what they mean. This program is a real bargain compared to paying a monthly fee for Photoshop.

Excellent software with excellent tutorials at a much lower price than Photoshop

I have been using photoshop for years. Funny thing, revision after revision seems to provide nothing better nor nothing new. Try something that really does the job from some creative people. I did and I am very happy.

My only need for photo editing software is stitching photomosaics. I have only used Affinity a short time, but it works as smoothly and as well as Photoshop at a greatly reduced (one-time payment) price.
