Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Question: since the 5500k version doesnt have the bi-color option, does that mean that the unit it brighter than the bi-color version? I did get a chance to see the bi-color version of the light up close and it seemed like half of the 320 leds were for the 3200k and the other half were for the 5500k. (Minus 40 leds for the color bulbs as well)

A: Yes the 5600K version would be brighter while the bi-color version would give you nearly half the output in daylight mode.

Q: 2. How's the color accuracy. The original light wand was slightly magenta

A: Id say it is as close to perfect as youd expect at this price point but it is much less magenta than the last model...

Q: 3. Does the 5500k have twice as many daylight less since there is no tungsten LEDs?

A: Ive set mine at 5500k at 30% output and still pretty bright. You can set the color temperature if your looking for similar tungsten color output. Hope this helps.

Q: 4. Can I power this using V-mount batteries via D-tap to DC cable?

A: You would need to use an adapter to allow you to use a V mount battery with something like the Kondor Blue D-Tap To Sony a7S III Dummy Battery NP-FZ100 Cable BH #KODTSA7SDB

Q: 5. Is there a barn door option for this light?

A: Unfortunately, I see no barndoors listed as an available accessory for use with the Yongnuo YN360 II LED Light Wand. However, if you wish, you may make temporary options using the Rosco Matte Black Cinefoil (12 x 50') B&H # ROCF1250B, and gaffers tape such as the ProTapes Pro Gaffer Tape (2 x 30 yd, Black), B&H # PRGT30B.

Q: 6. Where can I get the optional 12v AC power supply for continuous output?

A: The proper AC power supply for this light is the Fujia Appliance AC Power Adapter (12V, 5A), B&H # FUACAD12V5A. https://bhpho.to/2KtGXeR

Q: 7. Does anyone know how to change channels or unpair the lights? I have two and cannot seems to figure out how to adjust them independently because they are both on channel one. Changing values of one light changes the other light wirelessly as well.

A: The lights need to be on their own channel in order to control them independently. This process can be set up in the app.

Q: 8. Does this new version still have the 1/4 20 threaded mounting hole at the bottom?

A: Yes it does. I had it mounted on a flexible DSLR tripod and it held nicely.

Q: 9. Can you connect two lights together for full length photography?

A: Although you cannot physically connect them together to create one super long LED, an easy solution i found is to use them on tripods with ball heads so you can swivel one upside down or lower the tripod so they position in line and full body length. Or put them on stands and just lower one stand so they line up.

Q: 10. Can you mount these lights using T12 clips such as #KILHC24 or #NAHDT121C?

A: The diameter of the GVM light is 2" a T12 has a diameter 1 1/2"
