At 5.4 lb the Pro Series LED1000 Daylight LED Light Panel from Dracast is an ideal choice for studio or location work where color accuracy, control, and flicker-free output are of major importance. This 12 x 12" panel is significantly larger than the Pro Series LED500 unit. The LED1000's daylight-balanced output is well suited to outdoor work or for color-matching HMI fixtures, while its high CRI of 96 renders colors with precision and fidelity. Dimming from 0 to 100% is conveniently done with a back-panel knob that adjusts the output with negligible color shift. The low electrical draw of 60W means a timely return on your investment.

The durable anodized aluminum frame is supported by a sturdy, U-shaped yoke with locking knobs on each side and a standard 5/8" receiver. This LED1000 can be used worldwide thanks to its 100 to 240 VAC power adapter. You can also use the onboard V-mount battery plate with 14.8 VDC batteries when mains power is unavailable. Accessories include optional 4-way barndoors for contouring and control of the LED1000's 45° beam angle. A carry case is included for convenient storage and portability.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the best way to make this light tungsten? I don't see any drop in panels for color changes only diffusion.

A: Just buy some CTO gels and clip them on the barn doors.

Q: 2. How does this light perform when competing with the sun? Can I use this light as a key light when sun is behind subject?

A: Hi Eric,Well, to be quite honest, i don't think any LED lights in this price range can compete with the sun. Only big HMI's will give you enough light to go head to head with the sun. But after using it a few times outside, i must say that it outputs a pretty decent amount of light and you can achieve good results... as long as you can filter the sun around you with scrims and other techniques. Again, it will not overshadow the sun but it will be very handful to bring decent light to your subjects. Bottom line Eric, if your need to match the sun, then you have to go for a bigger light like an HMI. :)

Q: 3. What is the Incandescent Watts equivalent to this light?

A: Unknown. It would be ROUGHLY equivalent to ABOUT 450 Watts of hot tungsten / halogen light. // Also, if there are any other technical or product related questions, feel free to contact us directly at any time at support@dracobroadcast.com.

Q: 4. Do these lights flicker when shooting 240fps?

A: These lights only flicker when you turn them on and off really really fast. ha ha!! Seriously though, they do not flicker (or at least, they SHOULD not flicker). Here is a link to a video showing a high speed film test: a href= https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MnFoJNVabfw target= _blank https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MnFoJNVabfw/a // Also, if there are any other technical or product related questions, feel free to contact us directly at any time at support@dracobroadcast.com.

Q: 5. Does it come with an XLR?

A: If you look at the photos shown here it is a very nice 4-pin XLR input clearly marked XLR.

Q: 6. What are the TLCI numbers for this light? More specifically, what is the complete CRI standard (R96a, or CRI Extended...)? Without knowing this, I am hesitant to purchase.

A: (see answer to aaron h )

Q: 7. What battery goes with these?

A: You need two NP-F batteries per light in the Dracast X Series LED1000 Daylight LED Light Panel (Travel 3-Light Kit) BH #DRX31000DNH.

Q: 8. I do not need the Dracast 90Wh 14.8V Li-Ion Gold Mount Battery I don't have a charger. Could I trade it for a Chimera LED Lightbank for Flolight Microbeam 1024 1x1 and Dracast?

A: For this type of request, please email us directly at sales@bhphoto.com. Thank you.

Q: 9. in the included box, it says it includes a battery plate and an ac adaptor, does it come also with a yoke ?

A: Yes. All of our Dracast lights that need a yoke come with a yoke. // Also, if there are any other technical or product related questions, feel free to contact us directly at any time at support@dracobroadcast.com.

Q: 10. Can I add a diffuser?

A: These lights have extra diffusion panels available. There is a clear acrylic LED protector in the light. The filters we have for these lights requires a filter holder if the filters will be used without barn doors or a softbox. // Also, if there are any other technical or product related questions, feel free to contact us directly at any time at support@dracobroadcast.com.

I had never before felt the need to write down a review for something I purchased on internet but I do it now because I was searching on web for a long time to find a kind of quality lights that can stand up on daily use.i am a professional videographer and the quality of lights is one of the major issues while filming. This LED panel was the response to all my problems it's easy to carry around for travel , is cool to the touch, and is bright , color-accurate and puts out a lots of throw. Moreover not only the lights are very bright, illuminating a set well for close and relatively long range but also light's color is pure without any weird tones that shouldn't be dominating a scene. You can also use it t0 fill-wash over a scene with light, or as a key light to accentuate shadows and any contrast. Moreover I have to mention that the shipping process was a breeze as lights arrived only within 2 days after my purchase!all in all a highly recommended product!well done guys!

We've been using these lighting fixtures for a documentary that requires indoor interviewing and location-based shoots for interviews, events, and even a couple of action shots. This kit was more than sufficient for our lighting needs. The fixtures are absolutely bright when we need them but they're versatile enough such that we can dim them to about 45-50% of capacity and we get enough power for the shoot. The color the lights produce is awesome and everything we've shot has looked spectacular without filtering or retouching. The panels are built of sterner stuff than we're used to and the light stands are so solid.

These are really the best LED's I've used. They're extremely well built and put out a lot of light. I have a 1000 and 500. I use the 1000 as my key, a bounce for my fill and a 500 for my backlight. Most other LEDs out there don't really pack too much of a punch, but these do. They claim to be a 1000w tungsten equivalent and they are. Just compare the photometrics to any other LED out there. It's not even close. They've been great to bring to location work and not have to worry about flipping a breaker. Also, the color on these lights is really great, perfect balance. I definitely recommend these lights. The best part, you can even run a thick diffusion on them and still have plenty of light to work with and bounce

This light kit is a happy medium for what you're looking for in a light kit. For an interview or small scale shoots, this kit is a tad bit pricey, but not astoundingly so. For more ambitious productions like indie film (which is what I do), this kit is a steal. The lights are very bright, clean, and pack a punch. One light alone throws out over 18,000+ Lux at about 3 feet. You won't find better power than that on the market, especially for the price. It's also remarkable to see the lights perform so consistently, with no noticeable dip in color temperature. The build of the lights is outstanding too. Generally, I worry about LED frames being too thin and plasticky to handle wear and tear. The Dracast lights feel more substantial and less plasticky. The light stands that come with the kit are also sturdy. The soft cases aren't much to write home about, but they're sufficient enough for transport (I'd rather use a Pelican case when I can). All in all, this kit is a bargain, if you need a high-performance kit fit for any kind of shoot.

I have been thrilled with the Dracast LED1000. It is lightweight, durable, and most importantly: It works. I had a large series of commercial office shots that I needed to take for my business, these ranged from smaller interior offices to larger windowed offices and everything in between. I found that this light was able to provide the versatility that I needed to capture quality shots, while being very light and easy to set up. I am currently walking in a cast, and doing this job on my own would have been nearly impossible if I had used my regular lighting set up. I am seriously considering the purchase of another two of these set ups. The LED gave me the light I needed, the adjustable angles helped me position it where I needed it, and there wasn't an excess of heat being given off. Two thumbs way up!

This thing is great for both indoor and outdoor filming, lightweight and compact so it's very easy to haul around, and doesn't get overly hot so you can put it away or move it without having to wait for it to cool down or burning yourself. It is plenty bright and looks very natural, which I am extremely happy with. All too often light looks artificial, which as we all know is never good on film. What I think I like best is that it can be either battery powered or plugged in, which makes for efficient production. Put simply this is the best piece of lighting equipment we have on our set.

About a year ago I purchased a cheaper LED light kit for doing on location interviews. Well, after two of the three of my bargain LED lights broke, I decided to replace them with Dracast. What can I say? These are, without a doubt, dollar for dollar, the best LEDs you can get. I noticed the huge difference in quality the minute I took them out of the box. They're made of metal, not plastic, and the light output is tremendous.Bottom line: I went the bargain route and I learned my lesson. Do it right the first time instead of paying twice. Go with Dracast.

I was really happy with this light. Well built and great color. The barn doors make it easy to shape and give you more control over the light. -----------------------
