I have an A73 and got this camera as a B-cam.
Time and time again, i keep going back using this as my main. Colors look great, lighter, and has a flip out screen!

As an editor who’s decided to go back to my much beloved cameras - this is a great step back into the shooting world. Easy to use, straightforward settings, compact, flip out screen (yes!), and delivers some buttery smooth footage and images. AND at a price I can afford. I’m absolutely loving this camera - never gonna leave my side.

The specs don't seem to be much different from other A7 bodies, but when you actually hold it on your hands, the difference is very real. This camera feels so much smaller and light.



The colors are very nice too. I've been a Nikon shooter for a long time because I like the Nikon colors. I understand that Sony bodies tend to produce more accurate colors while Nikon bodies satisfy a more personal taste. I found the images that this body produces a bit easier to modify to match Nikon color, which was difficult to do with my previous Sony body (A7R III). It still produces a bit more contrasty images, but with the wide dynamic range, it's not a big issue.

With the compact size, full size sensor, and the wide variety of lenses available to the E mount, I strongly recommend this body to any street photographer or anyone looking for a high quality day-to-day camera.

Compact and nice built quality, pairing with a compact lense will be great for video, gimbal use and daily photography. Flip out screen is also a plus. Overall a great buy.

Been waiting for a compact full frame camera for a long time. Great image and video quality. Autofocus is great. Build quality is great and the tilt and swivel screen is very handy. Love that it has audio inputs and headphone out. Many other great features.

Buy it! Plain and simple. I was skeptical at first, but now I am a convert. I sold my Micro 4/3 Olympus EM1 Mk II and purchased this jewel of a camera and I am glad I did.

Beautiful build, solid, compact, with amazing quality. I could not be happier with this purchase.

I bought this camera in large part for the form factor. I wanted something with the power of an a7iii, but looks like a cheaper camera. The hope is that it will be more inconspicuous when I'm walking downtown. It doesn't look cheap though. Its a gorgeous camera. The only downside is that it only has one SD card slot.


Also, this kit included a Thinktank bag. I love it. High quality.

An excellent video camera. It's got the better a7siii color science compared to the a7iii, with the same excellent BSI sensor. This camera has about a half stop of better noise-iso performance (due to a downshift of the entire iso spectrum).
Most impressive is the increased video functionality over the a7iii, which is already a phenomenal video camera. No viewfinder actually means better backplate balancing on a gimbal (no top/down collision). There's no recording limit (unlike on the a7iii at 30 min). This camera also records gyro data for catalyst browse stabilization in post. That stabe looks so good, that it is better than a lot of gopro stabe! Sure, it's 8-bit 4:2:0 chroma subsampled footage internally, but that's no issue with all the s-log/hlg options you can grade safely with. This is the ultimate vlogging/travel camera, full frame with no compromises. Highly recommend it with the excellent 20 mm f /1.8 native G lens (which easily could have been a G-master lens because of its sharpness and build quality).

I have to say it almost satisfies all my needs perfectly.
I am not a professional user, and I have kids. So most of the time I use this camera to take photos and videos for my family and sometimes landscape photos too.
This camera is pretty good at both photo and video.
The full articulating flip screen makes it a lot easier when I take photo/video from low/high angle. Cannot go back to old style flip screen.
The most important thing is that it supports Gyro stabilization which allows me to take videos handheld all the time --- the stabilized video is like using gimbal. It makes it possible that I can always carry it and use it in my daily life. (Cannot imagine to carry a gimbal when go out with family and kids)

The camera is not perfect, for example, small view finder and less customizable button, one card slot. But those really don't bother me at all in the real use.

Consider above advantages and its price, I don't see any other similar camera. I think for a non-professional user who wants to use the camera for multi-purpose and want to use it as much as possible, the Sony A7C is the best choice in market.

Btw, one thing does bother me sometime --- it doesn't support 4K/60fps. So I use 4K/30fps in most of situation (so I can get 80% slow motion) and use 1080p/120fps when I really need slow motion.
