The 4lb weight feels heavier than advertised in person, but I cannot imagine it being that much heavier than the carbon fiber models that weigh only a pound or so less but cost a hundred or more than this model. So it's very sturdy to say the least, no need to worry about the wind jittering your shot(s). The hinges are strong and the tripod is stout. The twist locks are tight too. Coming from a flip lock system, this tripod is strong and easy to use. I have yet to use the monopod, but in due time I'm confident it will serve its purpose. As for looks this tripod is sleek. The finish is a matte carbon gray and the blue is galactic. That's the first word to come to mind and best way to describe it. I was initially looking at Manfrotto for my GH4 and various lenses, but I'm glad I went with the Benro. For the price, I got more than I expected. This tripod may even be overkill for my camera and current setup, but that's a good thing as it leaves room for more camera/film gear in the future. So if you're on a budget or even looking to save money for other camera accessories, the Benro is a solid competitor against the more recognizable names in the business. In fact, by purchasing these legs, which are great, you can focus more on the tripod head that's even more important. By saving money on the tripod legs, I was able to couple this with the Benro IB1 ball head, which I am also very pleased with.

This tripod is perfect, the mono-pod was a nice surprise, the bag is large enough to accommodate my head. Excellent all around.

This is a Fantastic Medium sized tripod! Very sturdy and does not vibrate or move when tapped on the legs even without a weight attached. Good locking of the legs and there is no problem with the weight. Great price for the Aluminum version. Much better than the Manfrotto 190 I had before. I would recommend this!

I am running this with the HD2A Pan head. Took it to Zion National park to break it in...it was fantastic. Reviewed the HD2A separately so I’ll focus on the TMA28A here. We hiked several miles with this guy and it was super easy to balance and carry. Setups on rocky terrain were fast, I could hang my bag on the hook quickly, & I used lots of different heights to get all the angles I wanted. The included bag made the flights easy, the bag barely fits in the overhead “skinny end in”, so that was good. I also got a very cheap basic head for the monopod setup since I use a monopod frequently. Changing from monopod to tripod was a snap and so easy that I changed it often! I am super happy with this rig!!

This tripod is half the weight of my Manfrotto 3021 with the Manfrotto 808RC4 head. I find it to be sturdy. I put a gimbal head on these legs to better support my sigma 150-600 sport lens. My first experience using this setup was to photograph ducks and Trumpeter swans on the river. Leveling the legs was quick and easy. I found this setup to be stable while panning about to follow the flight of ducks going back and forth. Happy with my choice.
