The 60mm f/3.8 Gen II Guide Scope from Starfield allows for precise tracking of celestial objects for wide-field astrophotography and visual observation. Its helical focuser accepts 1.25" eyepieces and camera adapters, and its fully multicoated doublet lens delivers ample light to the focal plane, aided by a matte-black antireflective interior. The field of view puts multiple guide stars in sight so your guide camera can help your mount track your subject.

Focusing the scope will not cause your camera to rotate, preserving your framing. A built-in dew shield guards against condensation and provides additional protection from reflections. The guide scope is supported by twin three-point mounting rings attached to a foot that fits Celestron, Skywatcher, Vixen & GSO saddles. A universal finderscope shoe is included.

Q: 1. Could you use just one of these stands to support a smaller portable slider, like a 3' Kessler Cineslider? I know you can use a single tripod for that slider so I was curious if I could get away with a single stand.

A: We do not recommend this for use as a single stand for a slider.

Q: 2. Hi, can anyone confirm the maximum height of this? Not looking for specs, Matthews specs are almost always inaccurate. Thanks

A: The Matthews The Slider Stand (3.8') maximum height is 3.8 feet.

Q: 3. What do I need in order to use two of these stands with a syrp magic carpet pro?

A: You can use the Kessler Crane 3/8"-16 Screw to Female Baby Pin/Male Junior Pin Adapter, BH # KEMG1028 which can screw into the 3/8" thread on the track sections of the Syrp Magic Carpet Pro. The knob on this adapter can be removed to allow you to fit into the Matthews Slider Stand.

Q: 4. Hello! Will this lens fits on D700 Nikkon camera?

A: Yes the Tamron SP 60mm f/2 Di II 1:1 Macro Lens for Nikon F is compatible with the Nikon D700.

Q: 5. Will this work with a canon 5D mark 4

A: It will mount and focus without issue.

Q: 6. Can this lens be used on Canon EOS R? And what will be the actual size of the lens with the crop?

A: Using the 7artisans Photoelectric 60mm f/2.8 Macro Mark II for Canon RF will be fine. It will crop the image 1.6 times. So the lens will be like a 96mm lens. And note, you will loose a lot of resolution.

Q: 7. Is the footprint diameter really 37"? I know that some advertised diameters are not accurate. It would be great to find a stand with all of the same specifications as this one but with a 27" - 30" footprint.

A: That is correct and the foot print for the Matthews The Slider Stand (3.8') is around 37 inches. Slider stands need to be that wide or wider so it does not tip.

Q: 8. using this stand to connect to my rhino slider, what attachment would I need?I was wondering if I need this:B&H # MAA.2558 MFR # 20027-10Any suggestions? The Rhino slider has pre-tapped 1/4 and 5/8

A: u would need a junior adapter off the slider

Q: 9. Seems like the Tamron SP90 Macro gets better reviews than the 60mm Macro. Which would work better on my Sony A55 SLT A55V?

A: Any Sony Alpha A-mount lens will work with your Sony Alpha A-55 DSLR camera. The Tamron SP 90mm f/2.8 Di Macro 1:1 VC USD Lens for Nikon F is a newer generation lens from Tamron and should have improved glass, design, speed, accuracy, image stabilization, and performance than the 60mm that is a much older designed model.

Q: 10. Can I use the Tamron SP 60mm f/2 Di II 1:1 Macro Lens for Canon EF for Canon EOS Rebel XS?

A: Yes, this lens is compatible with the Rebel XS.

I have been using Tamron lenses for years. They have done the job very well for me. I added this lense to do more maro nature photography. It delivers crisp images.

Light, Small, Bright and the lens does not extend. Was hesitating between this one and Tamron 90, f/2.8. Finally ended up with Tamron 60 f/2. It's Light and small, so easy to hold in one hand even on a little heavy body like D7000. As it can go up (or down?) to f/2 (actually around f/2.2) and 60mm, it can be a perfect portrait lens too!! can't be wrong to get 2-in-1 lens like this. Oh, I did not forget as this lens is a Macro lens 1:1, the external flash is not necessary, just normal pop up flash (with a little diffuser) is too enough for close up flower shots or even hunt for the insects! Auto focus is normal for macro lens. When there's enough light, it's pretty okay, but it will hunt a bit when a little dark.

Light to carry around as the main lens, easily replaces two lenses, short tele, and macro. But faster that other macros/ Reasonably fast AF. While the exact tests results are available on the web, the visible results are well above average. Would recommend.

Tamron makes great lenses. I have used them with 35mm cameras such as the Canon A-1 and the Nikon F-3HP and have found them to be clear and sharp. They are easy to use and usually at a better price than Canon and Nikon lenses. As a Crime Scene Photographer for the Bristol Tennessee Police Department I became very adept at 1:1, micro, and macro photography which has carried over into my retirement years as a hoby. I now enjoy photographing nature and searching for unususal plant, animal, and insect life. I have found this lense to be easy to use and a great addition to the Canon 60D camera I am now using. The photographs I take are unusually clear and sharp with a wide renge of applications. The lense is light weight and rugged, focuses easy, and is simple to use. I really have found no down side to the lense at all. I would recomend the product to anyone who enjoys this type of photography.

If you are into macro photography this lense is clear and sharp & easy to use. It is easy to manually focus and quick when you want to use auto focus. I was a CSI photographer before I retired from the Police department and that requires clear & sharp 1:1 ratio photography as well as micro photography. I only wished I would have had this lense back then. I have found the quality of the Tamron lenses rivals any other lense I have used including Canon & Nikon but the price is more reasonable. I also own a Tamrom AF 70-300mm 1:4-%.6 Tele-Macro and have been very pleased with It's performance, Trigg McNew

I'm an elderly amateur photographer that was looking for something new. The B&H sale price made this an easy decision. The past two weeks have been my break in photographing flowers from the local supermarket. I am thrilled with the results of how easy the lens makes macro photography. For a f 2 lens I do not find the size or weight a problem. The dedicated lens certainly makes macro photography easier. YouTube's videos on macro photography have been very helpful for a beginner like me

I already owned the Tamron 90mm f/2.8 SP DI MACRO 1:1 VC USD but wanted an APS-C macro to pair with my new Nikon D7200's. Having read all previous reviews for the 60mm f/2 I was initially thinking of going with the Nikon AF-S DX Micro-NIKKOR 40mm f/2.8G simply because it was about half the cost and carried good reviews. I'm not a fan of Nikon's DX lenses (and I own 2) but have never been disappointed with any of my Tamron purchases so I decided to go with the Tamron 60mm - worst case I would return it if it didn't meet expectations.Needles to say, the lens has performed far better than anticipated. The AF is much faster than I expected based on other reviews and surprisingly quiet when compared to my 90mm. Manual focus is a bit touchy when starting out but easily adjusted to. The only negative I would mention in relation to focus is that it does not have a focus limiter as is present on the 90mm - has not turned out to be a negative for me and has not impacted my focus speed.Construction is up to Tamron's usual standards and the 6 year warranty can't be beat. It is also much lighter than I thought it would be based on other reviews - at 6 oz. less than the 90mm it's a little easier to hold stable when used by an old fart like me.There are plenty of reviews that dissect this lens technically so I won't waste your time by doing it again here. I would, however, recommend this lens to anyone looking for an excellent APS-C macro.

Researched mid range lenses for several months. Had decided on either the Sigma 85mm f1.4 or the lower cost Canon 85mm f1.8. Then read about this lens with the fast speed and macro ability and read as much about it as I could find. Read on a chat room that 60mm was much better for interior photos than 85mm on a APS-C camera. Decided to give it a try, and I don't regret it a bit. Wonderful macro shots and inside pics of grandkids without a flash are super. Highly recommend this lens.
