Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Do I retain camera control capabilities (ISO, shutter, focus) if I use the HDMI Ultimatte 12 with my BMPCC and ATEM Mini setup?

A: Yes it does. Just make sure to send the return feed from the ATEM Mini to the Ultimatte 12.

Q: 2. Why don't inputs 2,3,4 (B, C, D) on the 8k function? Only input one (or A) works!

A: When receiving an 8K signal, the Blackmagic Design Ultimatte 12 8K Keyer/Advanced Compositing Processor uses all 4 inputs for the single 8K signal as quad link is required for the full 8K resolution.

Q: 3. For 3 keys cameras do I have to buy 3 Blackmagic Design Ultimatte 12 4K Keyers for each camera?

A: The Blackmagic Design Ultimatte 12 4K Keyer Advanced Compositing Processor is used with a single camera, and if you have multiple cameras in your production that need keying, you will need multiple Blackmagic Design Ultimatte 12 4K Keyer Advanced Compositing Processor.

Q: 4. Does the power adapter works with 220v ?

A: It would appear that the adapter says 100 to 240 volts for input. So I would say yes, it should work. If not, all you should need is a DC power adapter, that's 5 volts 2 amps that's for 220v.

Q: 5. What transformer is to be used with this speaker?

A: The Solid Drive SD1 is designed for 8 ohm applications. We do not carry transformers for these units. For 70v/100v systems please contact the manufacturer directly toll free 855.663.5600 or sales@a href= http://mseaudio.com target= _blank mseaudio.com/a for support.

Q: 6. Which 8K-capable cameras can be used with Ultimatte 12? What about the URSA 12K?

A: There are very few cameras that output 8k at this time. But Studio camera systems like the Sony UHC-8300 is one option. https://bit.ly/3xsWeG0

Q: 7. Can this be used as a live keyer for a virtual set with dynamically moving cameras? The promo materials seem to only mention fixed cameras.

A: The Blackmagic Design Ultimatte 12 4K Keyer Advanced Compositing Processor can be used in virtual sets, but the handling of foreground and background would be done with external processing.

Q: 8. Do you need the controller to operate the key?

A: I spoke to a Blackmagic tech support guy yesterday and he said you do not need the Smart Remote Controller to operate the Ultimatte 12. It does make controlling the unit and setting up a key, a lot easier but there is a software based controller that you can download for free on the Blackmagic website, on their support page.

Q: 9. in relation with your answer “You will need at least 1 Ultimatte 12 and an Ultimatte Smart Remote 4 to control them and key your set. You will also need cameras and a virtual set software.” what is unclear to me is which set is going to make the render for the camera motion is ultimate 12 does that?

A: The Ultimate only does the keying of the image camera over background. It does not have virtual set type rendering of the image or modify the background.

Q: 10. Can i use a 4k camera with internal recording and send video signal via hdmi at the same time? Does it downscale automatically?

A: The Blackmagic Design Ultimatte 12 HD Mini Keyer/Advanced Compositing Processor does not downscale at this time. It would be recommended to check with your camera's capability to record 4K internally and send a 1080p signal via HDMI in order to confirm compatibility.
